Kush_Zombie said: FUCK THE MAN! That's right, I said it!
Told these fuckers to quit making me close till 3am because they know I ride the bus so I have to wait around this 24 hour donut shop till 5:30am when the busses start running again and then take an hour long bus ride to my apartment. They were like "We don't want to lose you, we'll fix your hours." And the fuckers still scheduled me with nothing but closing shifts. So I put in my 2 weeks notice and told them I'd finish out this week since iI told them a week ago and they could consider that 2 weeks. Well then I'm scheduled to come in at 6pm today and I get there and he's like "oh, I'm gonna have you come in at 7 instead."
So I said "That's fine, and since you guys like waiting until the last second to tell me things I'm going to go ahead and return the favor by quitting right now."
It pissed him off and I loved it.
Updating my résumé and then running to the library tomorrow to make copies and hand those babies out. Takes me a day, two tops to find another job. Rent for January is already paid, they can go fuck themselves.
Way to go dude. You did it the right way. You mentioned your situation. Waited for a change, Nothing happen and then they abused and you fucked right off. Respect is earned.
There needs to be consequences. They can go fuck themselves. They lied to you and they knew it.

Dude legit half the things you say make no fucking sense and are devoid of content as well. You ramble and ramble but never really say anything with your superfluous use of large words. You also seem to disagree with people just because.
And holy shit 52 people are ignoring you?lol I only know that because you annoy the shit out of me sometimes and i considered ignoring you but i just dont like to ignore people really. If i ignore someone that says a whole lot about that person.
I will say in this particular case you are right though.

A cook at this bar/coffee place. Sorry, that reply was for someone else. I didn't even see all the replies on this page. But yeah, I just walked to the donut shop after work. The workers at the donut place are cool and just let me enjoy their warmth till the busses started running again.

So the job I quit was paying me $10.50/h with no benefits, they were struggling to give me 40 hours a week, they were am hour bus ride from my house which kept me an extra 4 hours waiting for the bus, and the company was unorganized.
A few days ago I got hired at Chipotle at $9.75/h with half-assed preventative medical (only doctor checkups and things like that but it didn't work if I got sick or hurt), a 401k plan, dental, and vision. they're within walking distance of my apartment, but they can only give me 30ish hours a week. I was a little disappointed with this at first.
BUT NOW Just this morning I had an interview at Natural Grocers. I start tomorrow morning. They're starting me at $10.50/h with full medical, dental, vision, and a 401k plan. For every hour I work, I get a dollar in store credit. I get discounts on all groceries and supplements there. I'm guaranteed 40 hours a week and they expect me to work that much anyways. And they're right across the street from Chipotle.
I'm about to tell Chipotle to just throw me on part-time and make Natural Grocers my primary job. I already told Natural Grocers that I'd make Chipotle work around their schedule and my manager at Chipotle was aware that I had a job interview at Natural Grocers this morning. If they have to fire me for that then so be it as long as I'm still at Natural Grocers then I'm happy.
So glad I quit my last job.

Seeeee. You can never go wrong if you quit because you hate it.
Why haven't you done this earlier BTW?
Also, if you have too much money, I'll be happy to take some of it.

I've only been in this city for a few months I was at the job I quit for only a few weeks. When iI worked there I didn't have much time to look for another job because I was either sleeping, working, or waiting for the bus. Once I quit it gave me time (and need) to find something else. I was just looking for absolutely anything when my last job hired me.
I'm only 21 and have been living independently for only a few months so I'm still learning how to adult.

Well you're doing a good job so far.
Whenever I got myself into rut jobs I just rutted away for far too long, until something else came up.
Quickly recognizing the situation for what it is and making deliberate steps to change it and not just moan about it sounds pretty mature.

Damn so 40 bucks store credit a week, you could eat on just that alone, never have to spend on food. Then your mush operation pays your rent and some. You're gonna be "young kid rich" pretty soon.

9.75 is super ouch. I been there tho. Just don't stay too long, it will make you miserable and you shouldn't be miserable for such a paltry sum.

Dude, that sounds so great!
I'm commuting over an hour each way, to make less than I did cooking, and now I'm busting my ass in the weather everyday.
It's only temporary though, I'm still on my way up!
That grocery credit is sooooo nice though man! You can afford to spend the same as before, but splurge on healty, tastier, brands. You can cook some prime steaks up for the SO every now and than. The list is endless!

Thanks guys. Apparently I also get $25,000 in life insurance, paid vacation time, and I get 60% of my normal 8 hour pay on my sick days. After I work here for a year I get 10 paid vacation days. 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year I get 15 days. And after 5+ years I get 20 days of paid vacation time each year.
Also get paid holidays and I get a free 8 hour bonus on my check each birthday I have.
They like me on my first day so far.
And literally EVERYTHING we sell is organic/non-gmo. We have a lot of badass stuff here. Natural Grocers claims to have the highest and strictest food standards.
Fucking love this place.
Not going to lie, I'll be quitting Chipotle. I can already tell they're going to have complications working around this schedule and tbh I don't need that part-time job anyways.
