Washer making noise at the end of the spin cycle
    #23930431 - 12/15/16 06:31 PM (7 years, 2 months ago)

Once all of the water is out of tub it goes Duhdun repeatedly. All the other cycles seem good and the washer is level. Going to call the parts store tomorrow, they can usually troubleshoot over the phone, but is there anything I could/should look at in the meantime?

It's a Kenmore series 80 direct drive.

Try lifting it from front to back.  That's the same washer as I have.  It's got feet on the back that have springs.  Sometimes they get stuck and it will walk more easily.  When you lift it up the feet chunk back down and dig into the floor in the back if that makes sense.  Sometimes you have to push the rear feet down while lifting it up from the back so hope you are strong.  Also if you get the load at all unbalanced with heavy stuff on normal cycle it will chunk chunk chunk and move across the floor regardless.  Try it on knit/delicate and it won't chunk chunk chunk I bet.  Be careful to keep the load even around the perimeter, when it's draining it won't go out of balance but after that it's gonna bounce around.  Great washer though mines 23 years old.

Also I should mention that it does make a funny noise at the end of spin but I think that's the break or something.  Try it on delicate and see what happens.

I checked the back legs, they're good. It's still chunking at the end of the spin cycle, but not on delicate. I've had this washer about 15 years. Works good, had to put two clutches in though, because someone was overloading the washer and they wore out.

OK, let us know what you end up doing.
