I happen to yawn a LOT during my trips, which causes my eyes to water and then other people think I'm crying haha

Try turning the fan off, or don't face wind. I had this problem last night but i was tripping to hard to realize it was a fan.

Well serotonin makes you dream and melatonin makes you tired, both are produced in the pineal gland. Melatonin is still sectreted while you dream, and sleep. The psilocin sort of tricks your brain into thinking you have a bunch of serotonin, therefore releasing melatonin which causes you to become tired without realizing it because your tripping and therefore you yawn.
This is just speculation from my knowledge, i could be wrong. Feel free to correct me.

Yup
McKenna always said he associated the watery eyes aspect with the actual visions themselves.

Ditto! I wondered if it was just me, as no one I've ever tripped w/ had this symptom. It doesn't really bother me too much, as 'm usually having a great time and grinning and so I usually attribute any water works that manage to squeak out to just be happy-bliss-tears.
It's kinda like how my dog always has tears after she eats

Lower doses make my eyes water more, with larger doses I don't get that.

Ahh I don't know which vid it was exactly. I think maybe the video on YouTube where he explains the effects of psilocybin? There's a video called that.

Only time my eyes water on mushrooms is from uncontrollable laughter. I yawn like a son of a bitch tho.

Ya the things that tend to hit me the most are the yawning and the runny nose, I'll only get salivation and watery eyes on certain trips but the yawning and runny nose is definitely consistent. Psilocybin just turns all my boogers into liquid and they just kind of run out.

Think it could be from touching the mushrooms then rubbing your eyes? Maybe the spores can irritate them?

Hmm I don't know, from the way McKenna and others described it it seems it can happen on pure psilocybin as well not just with mushrooms. I think it's just a physiological effect of psilocybin not from touching the mushrooms because if it was just from touching them and rubbing your eyes that means people who sold or dealt with mushrooms a lot would have watery eyes all the time even when not tripping.
