21 Grams

Is it REALLY tre the body looses 21 grams at the time of death? I searched for the topic, but came with no results. If this is so, it would be proof that there really is some sort of astral body holding our conciousness togethor.
Any thoughts?

I don't think it's true... I've never heard it before the movie came out. But if this "spirit" is affected by gravity, then it's not supernatural.

-------------------- Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

Of course not. What would you be losing? Your 'soul'?
Oh and btw, I thought that movie stank, just pulling on heartstrings with cheap plot tools like killing children.

Why would that be proof of an "astral body"? Why would an "astral body" that holds our conciousness weight anything in the physical world?

Maybe the average human just loses their entire brain when they die. 21 grams sounds about right.

If they shit when they die, they will shit in the bed, which also is part of the scale. I read your link Mushmaster ( http://www.snopes.com/religion/soulweight.asp ) and it is wrong to call this a myth. Dr. MacDougall made only a few experiments, mkay, but of course this was due to the controversial nature of such a study. He seemed to have a proper scientific attitude, claiming that no absolute conclusion could be made upon his few experiments, and that more had to be done. As far as I know Dr. MacDougall's 6 experiments are all that have been done, and no further studies have been openly conducted. The evidence is vague, but who would dare to take up where he left? There are of course the phenomena of near death experiences which has been mapped by various scientist. There seem to be a kind of astral body carrying our consciousness, which leaves the body upon death. It would not be surprising to me if this astral body weighted a little. Energy is matter, and matter has weight. This astral body may be some subtler form of matter... What is matter anyway?

Energy cannot be destroyed nor can it be created, so where does the energy that makes us alive and move go? I guess we'll never know untill death comes for us, huh?

I don't follow you compleatly, the visionaire. So what I said before wasen't a good thing? I didn't mean that I do not belive in heaven and hell, because I do. I was raised as a Southern Baptist, and belive in God, and the soul/spirt as well as the Devil. So... Swami is the Devil, correct me if I am wrong? Or am I not supposed to say that? Just wondering, also very courious on what other people belive about issues such as this.
