This is my attitude right now. but if I cant get a more prestigious job offer in the next 9 months, then I am screwed completely. So the clock is ticking

I will gladly sacrifice a pay cut if it means working at a place I actually like working at doing things that are meaningful to me.
I don't need to get rich, I need to able to live comfortably and make sure I can take care of my shit financially.
The thing is, I am using this current job as a backup plan. this attitude sounds great in theory but I have a tiny amount of cash in the bank saved. enough to get on my feet. but not enough to turn down this job on principal
Dude, you do what you need to in order to make a living.
I am fortunate enough that I don't have to worry about such a thing right now - however, my job title at a different company would be making more than I do currently - I work in the nonprofit industry and even though my company is very different from many other non-profits and my wage is competitive and livable - I could be making more at a different company - the other benefits of the job and just the opportunity to be apart of a company that is growing exponentially while it's still in the early stages, the meaningful nature of my work...it all is worth the pay cut.
In 5 years, perhaps I'll revisit it, but at the moment I am entirely happy with the job and am okay with the fact that I'm making 15k under what I could be right now. Not everyone has this luxury, not everyone has the luxury of not having to provide for anyone other than themselves. My attitude will ALWAYS default to 'we do what we have to'. I'm just lucky and I answered the question with that perspective.

I mean ya. This job sets me up for grad school, my next job, etc.
It is what it is. I will just have to move on with life and take it. I am given fairly ethical work. I have a clean criminal history. I don't smoke weed and the only drugs I still use clear your system in a day or two and have no addictive potential

I'd do the same thing I did the first time.
