Ultrasonic Potassium Chloride softened water

Hey brothers and sisters. It just occurred to me that, using the water from my water softener in my ultrasonic humidifier may be toxic for my mushrooms. I have not found any data on this and, I don't wanna be the one to experiment. I have already discovered that the softened water is toxic to mycelium, even in the very small amounts present from being processed from just my water softening system. I don't know if these toxic results would carry over via the mycelium and / or mushrooms absorbing potassium chloride from the humidity, and / or if the potassium chloride gets conveyed into the humidity. Any thoughts?

Your adding salts to your water, never good. Use the purest water you can.

Do you have a source of hard water? I'd just use that with a humidifier that's got a mineral cartridge

Yes, right. Now however, my water softener is bypassed but, I'd really like to use it. I just don't wanna have to run out and buy separate water for my humidifiers. It'd be nice if I didn't have to worry about it but, I'm almost sure the potassium chloride would be in the ultrasonic mist and therefore would likey affect the fruiting. Potassium chloride definitely greatly inhibits the growth of mycelium.

Right on Mushboy. I appreciate the affirmation. I'm gonna bypass the softener for all intents and purposes; I'll fill up some five gallon bottles with untreated water and then turn on my softener. I can probably keep it on most times except for when prepping grain, just 'cause of all the rinsing and the simmer.
Thanks everyone.
