AA75x Plug very hot after use

Hello all,
I've been a long time out of practice, but recently got my setup situated in a new place. Tonight I had a chance to prep some MEA agar for some petri dishes. When I went to unplug the 75x I noticed the plug was really really hot to the touch. I seem to remember it being hot before but this really concerned me, and I just wanted to ask if there's anything I can do to prevent an electrical fire This was just a 20 minute cycle for a liter of agar. I'm afraid a 2 hour cycle for substrate bags might over do it. Has anyone else had issues with the plug on electric models of AA overheating? I didn't smell burning plastic or anything like that. Maybe I'm just really paranoid about electrical fires because I've been through one. Any advice or feedback appreciated.

Do you have it plugged directly into the wall or into an extension cord?

That is very odd.
Mine are warm to the touch but not hot.
And I run them for 3+ hours.
Maybe a problem with the electrical circuit or the plug on the sterilizer.
Are you pushing the power output for the specific breaker?

Yeah, I remember the plug being warm at the old place but not hot.

How would I find that out? This really concerns me the more I think about it. Even the cord was hot which makes me think it's warming up the entire line that powers that outlet which could cause a fire. I was really looking forward to getting some new projects going, but this may put things on hold again for a while longer...

Take a look at your circuit breaker and determine which breaker you sterilizer is on.
it should be labeled with 10a/15a/20a or something similar.
As long as it's a 15 amp circut I think you should be fine.
Maybe try it on another outlet in a different part of the house and see what happens.

Was the electrical fire you've been through happen in the same house? If so you need to call an electrician man.

No, not in same house. New place is a double wide mobile home, about 4 years old. The breakers have a line that says a1515 so I'm pretty sure it's a 15 amp. The outlets are all supposed to be GFCI too. I have an electrical tester and the outlet checks out. I'm still pretty concerned about this.

15 amps may be way to much for that cord.
