A bright idea, maybe just stoner talk but. .
    #23927100 - 12/14/16 05:52 PM (7 years, 1 month ago)

I had a bright idea of starting a kick starter to build a rover to send to the moon to investigate the NASA lunar landing sights, to prove once and for all, for those on both sides of the fence, if we humans have been to the moon.
Do you believe humans went to the moon?
You may choose only one

You're going to need at least 30 million for the set and to fake a rocket launch alone.

This is only for people on one side of the fence because the proof already exists.

"Remember the fake rover landing that one guy posted?"

How to get started in bulk:

BOD's Simple as FUCK Still Air Box
PastyWhyte's Easy Agar Tek
Munchauzen's Cultivation Video Series
How EvilMushroom666 Prepares His Grains (I use jars with Synthetic Filter Discs)
What is G2G? (Grain-to-Grain)
Damion5050's Coir Tek (I use 5.5 - 6 quarts of water instead of 4. Also ignore step 13 and ignore the monotub completely. The only purpose of this tek is to show you how to make a simple substrate. I also add gypsum to it but not necessary)
Spitball's Monotub Tek (A liner isn't necessary but is useful)
Use 6500k lights throughout the whole process. When you wake up, turn the light on. When you go to sleep turn the light off. It's as simple as that.

Would have been harder to fake it than to just do it. Docking to the space station is way harder than going to the moon.

They say the moon is hollow and the outer shell of it contains more titanium than all of earth. Could be hiding the secret of a spacecraft  :deathstar:

Even if there was no moon landing, we know that we could easily do it should we want to do it... I do find it weird that we haven't sent a guy up there for a while, then again, what can someone do that orbiters or sensors can't?

Unless we have a plan to go there and build something, nobody has to go to the moon.

They went to the moon.  It developed technology much faster to race for honor and world placement.  It sets the bar like being a nuclear nation or having billion dollar bombers.

All im saying is, it was totally possible to fake the moonlanding.. Peeps are always talking about the moonlanding being fake, but never bother to go into detail about it..

For example, where would the astronauts have gone?..

Maybe they were in fact launched into space, but once up there were told by some super secret team working on the side lines that they "need not do anything else", "just stay put" theyd say..

Astronauts: "i thought we was going to the moon?.."

Secret voice: "yea.. About that.. Uve just been punked by ashton kutcher! Lol"

It's good that you think the moon landing was faked. We need more people to believe in conspiracy theorys, that's how we maintain a confused and mentally occupied population.

Depends on how far you want to take the investigation I suppose, maybe people will notice and support your efforts.

The real question is, do you use technology only available to them, back then, or do you use current technology?

What did the computers look like in the late 60s early 70s?

I could argue either way, but I lean much more on the side that we were never there. IMO, a little hard to believe that in under 9 years, they learned orbital mechanics and all the math and physics and sciences, let alone build the rockets and all that jazz that goes behind building rockets and what fuels to use and testing and quality control. Blah blah blah, yeah it's very possible, I suppose, but fuck, if they did go, those were some brave, stupid asses to strap themselves to rockets. Fuck that.

They suffered deaths.  They got really lucky and had the tech and heroes that fulfilled some of their visions.

I think the world has too many problems and tech should be developed more for actual space colonies.

It is going to be bad if they try to go to Mars.  No tech exists even on paper to leave Mars.  Mars has too strong of gravity for the amount of full needed to break it's pull, to be feasible to bring to Mars.  They will die there and likely badly.

So let's say you did start up this kick starter thing. You go to the moon and there's no sign that anything was discovered. Then what? What is the final greater outcome that you seek to accomplish from this? A more educated population? Do you think people will really suddenly start rioting and take back what belongs to them because they learn the moon landing was fake. You probably think you're further educated than most people for diving into conspiracy theories but in reality it keeps you just as distracted as someone spending their time researching Kim Kardashian.

Well, you also have to consider Mars doesn't have the same atmosphere as earth, it's much thinner. One of the major problems in space travel from earth is getting out of the 'soup' that is the atmosphere, which is about 80km thick around earth. The red bull stratosphere jump was from about 110-112km, and he fell for a bit before hitting atmosphere, even having to plan jumping without any spin.

Orbital mechanics are interesting. I learned a lot from playing Kerbal Space Program, pretty much a space sim where you build rockets and space planes and rovers, launch them from a 10th scale earth with similar atmosphere, and explore a solar system full of planets and moons and even asteroids. Check it out, may change your mind on what it takes to get from planet to planet. If we can get off earth, we can get off Mars. In my dumb ass opinion.
