Sanitizing Used Geolite
    #2392706 - 03/01/04 11:04 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

I've read that boiling your geolite will clean it so you can reuse it, but is there any other effective, non-contaminent way of cleaning large amounts of geolite???

^^^ Like put it in a bath tub and fill it w/ hot water and add some bleach???

Is there a certain amount of bleach to use or not to use?

How long should it be soaked?

Just trying to be precise...

That will work. Just some bleach will work . Its powerful stuff, will most likely kill any germs.

I haven't had a contam problem yet w/ it Magash, lol, nice picture, it looks familiar...good to be back, thank you very much.

Some of the vermiculite, spores & white matter from the cakes festered on some spots of the geolite surface...so I sprayed it down with an Alcohol/Water (not H202) combo and then mixed up the geolite moving the prayed stuff to the middle of the tub and the bottom stuff upward to the surface and then resprayed with the alcohol/water combo.  But I think that when shop has been set up again (god knows when that will happen) I'll be safe and soak that crap in a tub of water/bleach

Thanx for the tips guys.  I have to get back on my research and find out all the neat stuff I've been missing out on.
