First post first grow!

This is my first grow of mushrooms,I set it up in a cabinet in my garage.i put up insulation along the interior of cabinet to help maintain and better regulate temps.then I sterilized the work space and the kit with Clorox wipes and set it up. I was able to obtain f+ strain spore syringe from another local fellow mycologist for inoculation.I sprayed inside of cabinet with Lysol and let set. Iafter I inoculated 5 of the jars that came with kit. I did a sterile technique of wipe down tip with alcohol and then burn till read hot between injections. I've kept temps between 75f-80f and jars have been incubating for a week now.. Here are some pictures: A concern I have is that they may be contaminated. My reason for this is I barely see colonization after a week and am not familiar enough with how it should look to tell if It is the right color.i may just be Impatient but am not sure . I must also mention that I did not aim needle tip to edge of jar so mycelium may just be colonizing from inside out, but again it's my first grow and I am unsure.any insight will be appreciated

Those do not look good. Seriously even it it wasn't contamed the sub looks compacted, the jars are the wrong shape for cake grows and the foil should come off the top after inoculation. But the ones that have growth are growing mold.
But really don't hold your breath. Buy a new syringe from a sponsor, don't use one from your local "mycologist" half the time they don't know shit. Then instead of some shitty kit, do things yourself for cheap with better results.
No worries, you have come to the right place. Now edit your post and remove the vendor name from it. Welcome to the shroomery.

Thanks for the welcome and your advice. So since they are contaminated, Nothing is going to come out of them and I should just dispose of them? And the shape of jar really makes a difference? The problem I have is that im in California and cannot order syringes.

If you use a reg mouth half pint you need to drip the spore solution down the glass to the bottom and colonize it from the bottom up. Otherwise it can stall.
Yes get rid of the contamed ones. Just steam the jar for 60 min and dump.

You should toss them yes. The size of the jar matters for the PF tek. Also without a wide mouth jar getting a cake out intact is a pita if not impossible.
No you didn't bring up a dead post, and if the subject matter is good and its not an 11 y/o post don't worry about bumping it. Some older threads start great conversations.

Get a PO box in a neighboring state and have some sent there from a reputable source. Then research hard to make the most of them. In the hands of a decent cultivator, a single syringe is enough to grow forever.

Yea I've been hunting a little hear and there but it is hard to get onto some farm land where livestock has been without trespassing and not getting caught

Welcome to this great community !
Just a couple things for your next grow;
You want to take off the foil after pasteurization to allow for GE (gas exchange). The vermiculite role is to prevent contamination.
I'd lower the temps to around 68-72, this way you don't risk yourself with contams growing faster than the mycelium.
As said before, use 1/2 pint jars for Pf tek :

This site has great Teks for you to read and learn a lot, and it seems that you're doing fine, just need a bit of refining your technique.
Last thing, although with Pf tek you can steam sterilize the jars, I'd highly recommend using a pressure cooker, IME, it's worth it.
And don't pack the sub too tightly!

Temp shows 80F... it's kinda on the high side. One time Mushierage gave me this advice:
Quote:
You can colonize anywhere from 70-78 degrees ambient room temp without affecting things too greatly. If you colonize in low 70s, expect colonization to be slightly slower, but much more resistant to being contaminated by bacteria or mold. If you colonize in the high 70s, you will notice slightly faster colonization, but there may be an increased risk for bacterial contaminants. Anything above 80 F ambient air temp is just asking for contamination. Also, after a certain point, the heat will be detrimental to mycelial growth and actually colonize slower than if you where to colonize in the 70s.

Wow thanks a lot bro I wasn't sure on temps because there's so much conflicting info out there. Yea I'm going to try again with lower temps for sure
