Building a Greenhouse 1

Anyone built their own?
Right now, im building one. A smaller one. 5'x5' footprint base. About 7 ft tall.
So far, we dug four holes for the four concert blocks with these 4x4 hardware brackets inside them. I used a laser level and a bubble level with a 2x4 to get the leveling right. Then we filled the holes with concert. Worked pretty well!
Now we are on the next phase: framing the structure. We are using 4x4 posts for each corner and 2x4s for inbetween support and for framing the windows and door.
I finished the framing for the back large window but my GFs brother thought it was a good idea to store the window and wood frame leaning againist a structure we have. Well, the wind was hard blowing that day and knocked over the window, shattering one pane of glass
I just completed the framing for the door and am currently working on the door jam and inside door trim.
Pictures coming soon, need a new image hoster....
Found a stupid simple image hoster: Imgur Android
Lets give it a whirl:
Prepping the 4 foundation blocks for concerte:
Back window wall frame:
The door frame: Door jam trim is layed out on both sides of the door. and I put some wood trim cuttings on the glass door to prevent me walking on them.
god damn those pics are HUGE! Coaster Style
Thats what i got so far.

Never have, but this is definitely something we plan to do when we get our own house in the next couple years. Good luck and will watch for finished product.

Will do.
Since the large window got broken, we replaced it with a smaller 4ftx5ft window that opens. It was the only one we could find from the used house building store.
I added some cut pieces of particle board plywood to the frame, but had to stop, ran out of screws. Will post some pics soon.

Built one myself this last spring. My needs require "no sight" from adjacent property and needed good fencing for wild animals of ALL sorts. After a lot of thought- I mean a lot I wanted semi- portable and expandable units as well. I used a dog kennel to also fit exact requirements from law and also used wood lattice pieces to help block solid shadows behind walls. I built a (free scrap wood) 2x4 skeleton frame around kennel like a box. Leaving half roof open with only wood lattice cover- other half had painters plastic at slant. I warped sides with plastic as well. Plants still responded VERY well to the slight lowering of direct sunlight. I cut holes in slender rectangle shapes to let air flow thru walls. I used green metal stakes to pound in ground and tie corners down. The beast survives wicked stir ms while being portable expandable and easily repairable. The wood frame outside leaves even two layers you could apply plastic for more cover. I love my kennel greenhouse. Can't wait to expand it in spring I'm gunna be sooooooo ready this time.

This yr I've expanded kennel ALOT and now it's an official zoological monkey cage. 10ft tall. 10ft wide, 20ft long. Fully enclosed , anchored to ground. And with a days work can be torn down to nothing (if needed) ........next year ima add another section of panels and make it longer

Kennel panels are cheap! Try and take bids on "cages" you'd be suprized how much they cost. Huge kennel total under $1000. And that is with 14 panels bought ( 6'x10ft) It's sturdy too. I wrap it with simple 2x4 skeleton so I can wrap it with plastic. Gunna be awesome yr folks to a wet summer
