Cakes ready to birth?
    #23923903 - 12/13/16 07:16 PM (7 years, 1 month ago)

Another noob question.
I fucked up my first project so I'm A little nervous of the timing of things.
I'll be happy with one fruit if my labour.
The top half of these jars seemed to colonize way faster than the bottom.
The top 3/4 has probably been fully colonized for 2 weeks and the bottom just has a small section to consume.
Should I birth them now or wait until the whole jar is fully colonized.
There's already knots forming and small pins on the top section of the jars .

wait. definitely wait. colonizing takes about a month plus one week of consoldation after 100% colonization.

In this hobby, patience is critical!

yes, just wait.

If it starts pinning and fruiting out the top with the lid still on, u may need to do a top fruiting thing.

It won't even start significant fruiting untill it's 100% colonized. Let it stay in the jar untill it's 100% covered. I had a problem with my jars colonizing slowly I foumd out I had to take the tape off the inoculation holes and let my jar breath. So if your holes are covered i suggest you uncover them.I also have a coffee filter fashioned over the topos of my jars but idk if thats proven to help filter the air I do it anyway
