Experiment: Plant/fungus symbiosis

Hi
This is something I worked on last year. It's not efficient or effective in this fetal form, but I figure there's a chance it could give more knowledgeable and disciplined growers ideas.
It's simply moss + mycelium. It was inspired by lichen, which is a symbiotic relationship between fungus and plants. The idea is that the moss produces o2 for mycelium; mycelium produces co2 for moss. Maybe one could do this with other plants like grass, I dunno. It was also inspired by moss gardens. My goal was to create mycelium which one could keep forever as a pet of sorts. This never happened. But.... I think there could be something there.
A couple notes: moss contains molds which destroy other things. A simple hydrogen peroxide-water mixture seems to take care of this. Moss will eat mycelium if it completely covers it; mycelium will eat moss if given half a chance, so there may need to be barriers. http:// http://[url=http://files.shroomery.org/files/16-50/166300661-IMG_0070.jpg [/url] the one on the right is a lemonade container. I figured the bunghole would make airflow http:// this is mycelium munching away the moss a terrarium with other plants and a mini shotgun fc... it didn't work.

Slime molds would make an interesting project for you. Check out Physarum polycephalum.
They actually market a fungal bag in the grow shops as a CO2 producer for indoor gardens.
