Physically: Im quite out of shape, and desire to rebuild lost time and lost muscle mass from the past few years of ebbs and flows. Poly-substance abuse, and general malaise.

Mentally: I struggle with not being in school pursuing my dreams, trying to find a job, living so far out in the country alone most of the day, rarely see friends. Always craving a high. Wanting re-connection to a life I once knew and loved.

With all that said. Each day is a new, and with it and every second as much as I can im striving and making the positive steps to ensure success and realignment to my higher self.

I have been digging the hot chocolate lately tho. Which, come to think of it, might be why my reflux is acting up so bad. Technicality have a mild chocolate allergy. It's lame.

Do you think that women like chocolate more than men?  That seems to be true from my observations.  However I must admit a while back to getting pretty much addicted to the 70% cacao bars, it's like some kind of drug at that concentration.  When I started needing one first thing in the morning, I had to give it up!

progesterone

and to the thread topic

I currently feel ok but I was feeling pretty poopy earlier. I had some chocolate and now I feel better, *says hooray in a monotone like ben stein voice

Most ladies get PMS because progesterone levels nose dive. So...?

...Chocolate is legitimate medicine tho.

I'm feeling pretty good.

I've been using a blood pressure medication for about a week now and it's been nice.

Low or high? what meds?

I have ridiculously high blood pressure most days. I'm ignoring it because I want to keep smoking cancer sticks. And in part it's cuz I'm stressed and that of course is feeding my high bp too.

I need better drugs or something.

Yeah the meds(Alphablockers) are for high blood pressure but I also use it because it reduces the fight or flight response by stimulating and eventually numbing the sympathetic nervous system.

It's also used to treat nightmares related to (C)PTSD.

Additionally I'm now about a month without tobacco since realising the additives and addictives are the ammonium salts(ammonium carbonate) which tailors add to the tobacco to increase the bioavailability of nicotine when it's smoked. aka, the ammonium salts make the nicotine absorb far quicker into your lungs.

P.S. Ammonium salts are toxins and they do not have 100% of their toxins removed when washed with acid.

Quote:

'Addition of substances which increase the bioavailability of nicotine.'
"Increase the bioavailability of nicotine by adding alkalising ingredients which increase the pH of tobacco (such as ammonium compounds). At higher pH (pH >8.0) more nicotine is in its free uncharged form, which would therefore more easily pass the (lung) membrane i.e. higher absorption leading to higher blood and brain nicotine levels. For details see section 3.8.3.2 on ammonia and other compounds affecting smoke pH."
http://ec.europa.eu/health/scientific_committees/opinions_layman/tobacco/en/l-3/5.htm

Quote:

Corporation in 1964 patented a tobacco substitute “in which ammonia salts are used to inhibit benz-a-pyrene formation, and in 1967 British American Tobacco researchers reported similar reductions with potassium carbonate"

Yeah I read you quit. :highfive:

The reason I didn't respond earlier is because its good you quit. And I would be tempted to mention there are additive free cigarettes. Which I've been smoking for about 3 years. I'm also on welbutirin which blocks nicotine getting from my brain.

It is purely compulsive habit and lack of motivation for me.

Tho I am interested in your meds since I have anxiety issues and commonly have panic attacks. :pm: me a brand name?

The GP wasn't very adamant about prescribing them to me but if you've done your research and you believe you need it they are there to help you.

There are risks involved and because the blood pressure is being lowered users could faint if they are unprepared or if they get up too quickly.

I have minipress but it's really something you need to look up yourself and talk to your doctor about.

I might be open to organic tobacco in the future but I have such little trust in manufacturers now that idk.
I find it interesting you are using meds to reduce the effectiveness of nicotine though you continue to smoke it?
For me my compulsion came from the immediate sensations of a 'nicotine high' that was okay for a minute but was somewhat sickening.

I do still like bud as it provides intermediate sensations and doesn't make me feel ill or nauseous.

Psychology is more complicated than that. You've told me something along those likes several times now and to some degrees you are right. But you're telling this to a person who has experienced psychosis due to repression of all the silly little shit we can whine about on a message board.

Seeking support when you feel down can do alot of good. Just venting shit out does good.

Dwelling and feeling a need to be coddled is indeed toxic but if that's your problem YOU SHOULD TALK ABOUT IT. Bring that shit out in the open so you can address it. It's the best way. I've seen alot of people try to cover up and ignore their problems, never vent their stresses, always fight to be stoic, and that is very toxic and damaging over time.

So if you have more advice go ahead and share but as it stands your comment is irrelevant and detrimental to the purpose of the thread.

I tend not to start any new drugs until I'm pretty certain about what I'm getting into. Just curious, I'll look into it

I actually smoke little enough I get almost no nicotine in my brain. I get a nauseating nicotine rush when I forget to take my meds now. I'm hoping I'll be ready for another go at quitting in a few months.

Work and home life stress me out really bad and feed my anxiety. It's a long story but I've used the ritual of smoking in order to be a "normal" person. It's helped me function and push my comfort zone when I really didn't have anything else. So I was in a decent place early last year and was down to one smoke a day but got overwhelmed with school n family shit happened and now I'm back to averaging several panic attacks a month. And about a pack a week.

I honestly think it is my strict composure that gives me spontaneous panic attacks when I don't have anything to actively worry/be nervous about. Rather sucks.

But I know a change of environment is gonna do me alot of good so that's what I'm working toward

What's to "address" about feeling like shit? Our emotions come and go like the weather.

You opened with "Head hurt? Sprain something? Caught the flu?". Not psychosis.

When we want to bitch about life, we seek validation.

Stuff like "I hate Christmas." and "I hate the weather" does reveal how we disturb ourselves.

So a thread like this is educational.

No you fool the point is that ventilation is good.

The reason we are social creatures is that we bound and rebound ideas off each other. I'm considering alot with sudly about my blood pressure and smoking. And I'm sure some people learned more about chocolate. And all the while one of the most important parts is you don't have to be alone. You don't have to coop everything up that bothers you, even if IRL we all pretty much have to.

Bitching alone serves no purpose. Venting and conversing do. In fact I find bitching alone tends to make you feel alone. So I made a safe place for everyone to bitch together.

Edit: and I obviously meant that specific sentence for more serious psychological problems. Ones you are alluding to. But you seem tunnel visioned on the idea. Are you projecting? or is this something you learned in new age zen training?

I rarely if ever had more than 2 silver cigarettes a day because I only needed a tiny hit of nicotine.

I'm definitely with you on nicotine being helpful in stressful situations but personally I found that the overall stress of smoking cigarettes caused me more stress than it resolved especially as the effect wore off so quickly.

Alpha blocker meds, bud(single pipe hits), lots of fruit/food(nutri-bullet) and some basic exercise(10 mins push ups n whatnot) have been good at making a change for the better, it hasn't been long but I have felt more in control of my life since.

The meds I take are like a harder version of beta-blockers.
Beta blockers have less if any risks and are great for situational(speeches etc) anxiety attacks as they reduce the release of cortisol/adrenaline in your cardiac system reducing the physical symptoms of a panic attack such as a pounding chest.

A good environment is certainly important to good health of body and mind.

I find that venting about things often helps me to become "unstuck" from them.

You are entitled to your opinion, but if you continue posting in this thread simply to voice your disapproval for its premise, then you're just derailing and disrupting a discussion unnecessarily.

Moose and maple syrup are pretty awesome.

I do have alot of physical health issues that in part motivated me to make this thread. I'd like to get one of those blender things but I've had the most improvement in simply eating better. I typically have one fruit based meal, one vegetable based meal, and one meat and carb based meal a day. Which might be weird but it's the best way to see I don't eat 12 sausage links and 2 blueberries

I've heard alot about beta blockers. Maybe I'll look into them. I'm reluctant to try (new) drugs before I change environment tho. I really do feel like all I need is the "right environment" for me.

Which apparently is being alone in the middle of the woods picking up rocks

Sounds good

If there's ever an introductory drug to stress relief medications then beta-blockers are surely something of interest to bring up with a doctor.

As long as you're finding good vibes.

I've actually been feeling hella shitty lately (someone has to say hella now that sse is gone.) I think I had a bug or something and since then my body has been on a pure "fuck you" melt. Kratom is barely doing anything for the pain... Gonna ask for some opiates to see me thru Christmas if I have to.

I'll be jolly as all fuck. They'll see.
I've not had a full nights sleep in like 3-4 weeks.
Delirium actually makes me a fun person to be around. As long as pain/discomfort isn't making me grumpy.

Hella :crankey:

I did get something new to try for the reflux tho. It's licorice extract based. Which is cool. If that doesn't work I'm gonna try tagment cuz I've been in enough pain to think it's been a stomach ulcer. Who knows :ohwell:
