Yeah, he is one I have been thinking of lately, too.  Here is one site I came up with - I'm still looking for one of the ones I saw before.

http://www.yogananda-srf.org/HowtoLive/Beauty_and_Joy,_Grace_and_Refuge__Living_in_the_Presence_of_the_Mother_Divine.aspx#.WFCIqlUrKM8

Ah, yes, here it is. http://www.yogananda.com.au/pyr/what_is_God.html#mother

It seems a fairly extensive site: http://www.yogananda.com.au/gurus/yogananda_quotes36consciousness.html

But the look in his eyes... and what he says is clearly true, for me. How can you categorize him with those others?

The way he ran his business for one, lots of fancy buildings, cheap publicity and a hammed up persona.

He's made comments which make me very skeptical about his personal experience, but Id rather not get into conjecture on that note as Ive known gurus who are definitely very experienced and at the same time certainly fraudulant or at least delusional about their place in the universe (one true godman situations). Its a strange world.

I am incredibly leery about any "holy man", and I attribute this aversion to seeing people within my Christian upbringing that held positions of power within the church, prey on people with real problems, making promises to the people that were clearly suffering, and only doing so to line their pockets.

It seems like every belief has holy con men dispersed throughout their ranks, such is the nature of the beast, you can find con men everywhere though, so guess that's just part of life.

I don't know this guy, and I am not trying to know this guy, no offense to anyone that has found comfort in his teachings.  I think my aversion to holy men is this, it seems like they all end up profiting off of their "divine wisdom" and this make me feel like it's all a sham to begin with, because one would think that being holy has nothing to do with financial gain, and once you view your gift as a means to profit, you lose your divine gift, sold for 30 pieces of silver.

I don't know, even Ted Bundy could have kind eyes, be confident, some of the biggest assholes I have known in my life could look you in the eye and tell you what you want to hear with great confidence, and some of the people that appeared to be the shadiest, were the ones I could count on the most, don't trust looks, looks deceive all the time.

I feel like many of these holy men are selling their version of wisdom like brands, they figured they could tap into spirituality to make their golden calf from, selling their version of wisdom to the highest bidder, there sure are a lot of people buying.

Poor judgement and egoism. Yogananda was a truly enlightened being.
