Poor Monotub Pinset....

Whats up with this shitty ass pinset? Its ridiculous this is such a huge mono tub and I literally see about 14 pins if that. I have a trashcan liner in there and still seeing side pins trying to sprout up.
Could this be because my bottom air exchange holes are too tight with polyfill? Or maybe they are too high above the substrate? They are around an inch higher than the substrate..
My house was pretty dry for the entire fruiting process until about 2 days ago. I got a humidifier and running a steady 60 RH in the grow room. Inside the mono has been a rock steady 99% RH. And a temp of 68-71.
I"ve done multiples misting and fanning each day.
The poly fill is very very tight on the bottom and very very loose on the top holes. What could be the issue? It was multispore spawn. But still. I feel like Im doing something wrong. What should I do?
Why would there be side pins with a liner in place? The pins are pushing the liner off of the substrate. And since this is my first grow ever.
How long does it take for a pin once it shows up to mature to a mature fruit? Seems to be taking a long time. Although they get larger every day.

Sorry scanned too fast.
Ms could be a factor, maybe try getting the temps up a few degrees. I personally dont like going anything under 70

99% humidity is really high Try a double liner next time Did you fruit at spawn?

humidity shouldn't be anywhere near 99% except maybe a millimeter off the surface of the substrate
shouldn't be misting and fanning if you built your mono correctly
the hole location doesn't matter that much, the monos in my signature don't even have holes
sounds like you're setting conditions for what you think they want not what they actually want

That looks like it got dry, then was misted, then dried again. I know some of mine look like that right now, winter can be a pita with the furnace running all the time.
Try casing if you have a hard time with dry conditions.

I've been running a warm mist humidifier it has a 14 hour reservoir and cost $17 brand new at the drug store.
Keeps ambient temps in the room a couple degrees warmer and humidity high enough to not cause a lightning storm with your socks on the carpet

So what can I do if it dried out and I misted and it dries out? Should I continue to mist or what?
Next time I will case but what can I do right now to help the pinset.

Dial it in better and mist if you need to. There is really no making it great, just keepomg it from getting worse.

How can you tell it dried out? And should the surface of the substrate be wet always?

It has a shiny flat look that tells the story. It should be beads of water standing up and fuzzy mycelium, not streaks of shiny mycelium.

So do I mist until I see beads of water? I guess when I mist i barely water I thought having beads of water was a bad thing?

It's not like that, you mist if it's dry but you need to get to it before it gets too bad and you need to be gentle when you mist. Don't just hose it down.
It's better to dial it in tight at first and gradually loosen once the pinset is in. You don't need a lot of FAE until then any ways.

So now that the mycelium on the top dried out. It makes the pins harder to set there now? So I have to keep it fuzzy and moist for pins to form?

Pretty much. It's about balance. You will still see a second or third flush and it's not toast but the first flush is pretty much not going to be ideal.

Will the flattened mycelium recover after a dunk?

It might. Right now just don't fuck with it too much and let what's there do it's thing.
