How do you view Alcohol as a drug?

Hey Shroomies
How do you view alcohol in terms of it being a drug?
-Do you consider it a hard drug or a soft drug? -Do you consider how it affects your biochemistry? -Do you consider set & setting while drinking? -Would you consider taking brakes if you develop a tolerance. -Do you try to accentuate your alcohol high? -How do you view alcohol compared to other drugs? -Is alcohol recreational or therapeutic for you? -When you drink how often do you try to get as a high as possible?
You guys can answer just one question or just let out your opinion, no restrictions here.
Also consider people are now vaping alcohol
For me I consider alcohol a soft drug but I view this not on how it chemically alters my body but on how it is viewed by society as a whole. For me I do not care about set & setting when I drink, When I develop a tolerance I basically stop for a week or two since I would need half a li tre of vodka to get a good buzz on at those levels. I try to accentuate my high if I am out with cigarettes and bitches
I view alcohol as something that is easily abused, and is not something that is easy to take recreationally like having a pint before a soccer match or any sport.
Is alcohol therapeutic for me? Yes if I have muscle pain while playing soccer I usually go to the side of the pitch and chug a can to relive the muscle pain, It just makes me a bit tired but I usually pop a ritalin whilst chugging the beer so it balances it out, makes me more likely to get fouls though
Do I try to get as high as possible well yes & no since it depends on the set & setting.

Alcohol is a hard drug, it can kill you in a night or drag you down slow
But its not exactly cocaine or heroin, its somewhere in the middle

How do you view alcohol in terms of it being a drug?
-Do you consider it a hard drug or a soft drug? SOFT BUT STILL VERY HARMFUL IF ABUSED
-Do you consider how it affects your biochemistry? NO
-Do you consider set & setting while drinking? YES, I JUST DRINK TO GET FUCKED UP WITH BUDDIES OR WHEN IM OUT ON A DATE.
-Would you consider taking brakes if you develop a tolerance. NO. NEVER BEEN A PROBLEM FOR ME UNLIKE OTHER DRUGS. IF I STOPPED SMOKING WEED I OFTEN WONDER HOW MUCH MORE I WOULD DRINK THOUGH
-Do you try to accentuate your alcohol high? I DONT UNDERSTAND THE QUESTION.
-How do you view alcohol compared to other drugs? I DONT REALLY COMPARE IT TO OTHER DRUGS UNLESS PEOPLE GET ON A SOAPBOX AND RAIL AGAINST HOW BAD WEED IS FOR YOU
-Is alcohol recreational or therapeutic for you? RECREATIONAL
-When you drink how often do you try to get as a high as possible? I DONT AGREE WITH THE TERM "HIGH" HERE BUT WHEN I DRINK I DO IT TO GET FUCKED UP. IT"S NOT BECAUSE I LIKE THE WAY IT TASTES

Nice nice
What I mean by accentuate it's like when somone says eat a mango 30 minutes before you smoke and it would make you higher, or taking MAOI's before taking shrooms.

In that case what could you do to accentuate getting drunk? Like taking a xanax bar before or during your boozefest?
At first I thought you meant like acting drunker than you really are. Which is something I thought only junior high and high schoolers did

You can
But Xanax or Valiums while drinking make me black out and not knowing what's happened. When I take a pill while drinking what usually happens is 30 min's later I wake up in my bed or a friends bed not knowing what the fuck happened.

Alchohol is more like a poison I'd say, poison for your nervous system. Or are all drugs poison?

They say anything is a poison given the right dosage.
"Hard drug" isn't a term I really favor, but I'd say alcohol qualifies as much as anything else. You can die from withdrawal, enough said.
I've never really had any problem doing without it, despite being from an ethnic background known for drinking problems. I do go overboard with it on occasion though. In comparison I get much stronger cravings for weed.

n alcohol is in pure forms extremely hard, even in it's softer forms it can be used to harmful excess.
yes i know it is horrible to drink high proof alcohol
set and setting i think are irrelevant when it comes to drinking personally unless you end up doing something really fucking dumb and end up in jail/hurting yourself/complete embarrassment... these things are just by products of being (a) drunk
no wagon got no breaks- you yell whoa! at the beast pulling
not really sure what you mean by accentuate? i like to smoke weed and do other things to compliment. i also like to hit a sweet spot if just drinking.
they are all drugs, i don't really compare them other then i actually am involved in liquor sales on a certain level. people like drugs they will find and take drugs, alcohol would be public enemy number one if i were to compare
therapeutic might be an optimistic outlook on the consumption
no i have defeated alcohol, if i try and get as high as possible i put myself in unnecessary harm just like anything there is a glass ceiling where that is as good as it gets. just because we excess in extreme recklessness doesn't mean it is any better, thats just you (ego) doing it's trip
this is coming from someone who spends 40ish hours a week dealing with alcohol for a living, even having personal loss and anguish with alcohol involved as a major component i don't blame the chemical/product.

I view it as a hard drug similar to benzos/ghb most people can handle drinking but its very addictive to about 15% of those that use it. All drugs have different side effects and when abused alcohol definitely is one the the worst drugs out there. meth is probably worse on the body and mind but alcohol is particuraly dangerous because of the possibly fatal withdraws, blackouts, violent behavior, and social acceptance. Its just about the best drug out there for social anxiety and just like cannabis its is unique because of the different forums and varities, so its not just about the intoxicating effects but theres a whole culture around it. Its just about the worst drug out there when it comes to impacting driving ability unfortunately. over alchol is awesome and it is a hard drug, causes lots of problems with society, although most of its users don't suffer to greatly. to the people that do get addicted to it, its as bad an any heroin addiction

I currently don't drink any alcohol, and have never been into drinking it regularly, it's just not my thing.
I have enjoyed wine in the past, or the occasional nice beer, and some liquor is nice, but I don't like to get drunk unless I am doing it with a handful of people.
I have never had a problem with alcohol, and never will, it's just not my thing.

Alcohol is interesting because it has different properties from drink to drink. Drinking beer is different than taking shots of vodka, for instance.
Shots or liquor always seems like bordering on a hard drug, whereas beer and wine seems more like a soft drug.
And of course quantity and frequency of use is important, because it is definitely physically addictive.
Small quantities, infrequently, then it's a so-so, soft drug.
Frequently and in large quantities, then of course it's a destructive, hard drug.

Alcohol is more of an intoxicant than a drug. I seeps into every cell and disrupts normal function. While most drugs target a particular cell type or class, alcohol just fucks with everything.

It can also be beneficial to your health. I try to drink a little bit everyday, but it's not easy to keep it up when you live in a state that doesn't sell wine at the grocery stores

Alcohol is a hard drug no doubt. Really the only drug that could kill anyone with withdrawals.
Benzos can kill you but it's rare and the people who die are always teenage girls. Opiates alone don't kill you but staying locked in an apartment dope-sick will if you don't eat and drink water.
I actually consider alcohol the worst drug to abuse. A few tall boys and some pot never kill anybody though.
Well, maybe if they drove...
