Anyone here have any caffeine powder or tablets you can crush, It should replace sugars. Caffeine is energy attached to nitrates, and should not be bacteria prone.
In theory it should be restricted to live mycelium only.
No idea on ratio, but I think its unlimited.

That's a novel idea. I don't know if the mycelium could process that as easily as simple sugars.
Why don't you try it and let us know? Pure caffeine powder is readily available. If you're unable to acquire some I can send you some.

Here is a snippet from: Paul Stamets - How Mushrooms Can Help Save the World (figure 332). It specifically says that mycelium break down caffeine. I will look around on eBay.

I have been wanting to do a test for a while with coffee. I like to make LI with sterile water, a blender attachment and agar dishes. I was thinking about doing a test where instead of sterilizing water to blend the agar I would sterilize fresh brewed coffee and blend the agar with that and then pour into my grain bags.

It's slow as shit on that. I made energy drink wine that had no preservatives in it. Took three months to ferment. Try lc of cubes with the same stuff it contaminate blue mold. Most pills have additives that prevent fungus spreading. Try it your way. Im interested

That's an interesting idea. Caffeine powder is so cheap.. I may give this a go..
How much would you think you would start with? I wonder if it would make a difference if you hydrate your grains with it

Not enough micro & macro nutrients in energy drink, It's also high in sugar and only 32mg caffeine. Capsules are free from: Artificial flavours, colours & preservatives, lactose, yeast & gluten.
Yesterday I did some looking around, most capsules are 200 - 400mg. Which means I would need 8 capsules for 3g to 100g water.
Next issue, I would need to add: P, K, Mg, Zn.

I wonder if boiling some sliced carrots will extract enough to use as base. Then I could add the caffeine and make a basic LC from that mix.
When cooking any vegetables you extract nutrients.

You could also try a natural tea: Gauyusa, carrot, potato, ect.
Vs. Capsule: ie using supplements from gnc or some other supplement store :3

I made some carrot water and added yeast nutrients to boot. I think its enough to be a LC alone. So I will put some dirty spawn into it later and see what happens after a few days.
The mixture is typically carrot, honey looking, but slightly misty.
I did 20g of diced carrot to 60g of nutrient water.
1.25g of nutrients to 1000g water.

Well it works, Yeast nutrients, something to add to your mushroom toolbox. Mycelium growing out in 24 hours, including debris from swirling.
Carrots + YN, enough energy and nutrients to grow.
