Possible consequences of importing seeds.

Hey guys I have a question for you related to importation of seeds specifically into New Zealand. While reading this take into account New Zealands strict biosecurity laws.
Say customs got ahold of a package of seeds( no specific type in particular) that they decided was a breech of biosecurity and that package was addressed directly to you what's the worst case scenario?
I have spoken to many people and the general belief seems to be that customs has their hands to full with other more important things to chase up every little parcel. Someone told me worst case I get a letter telling me not to do it again.
What if multiple breeches were made over a period of time?
Any input from anyone on their own personal experiences with customs would be highly appreciated (whatever the country) And any insight to how customs deals with individuals receiving questionable parcels would be equally appreciated.

I do not know about New Zealand but in the states more then likely, unless its some crazy amount, You would get a love letter aka customs just saying your package was confiscated and you can fight it which is not recommended unless you have a legit reason. They shouldn't bug you though but I heard New Zealand has strict customs. Best of luck I would love too visit that region.

Thanks I might just go for it. I'm done having to comb the internet for jewelry made from the seeds I want.
Any more advice is welcome.

How about just asking the Customs what seeds you can import? They are there to serve you - and New Zealand's nature...

Not sure how they'll feel about me importing Desmanthus illinoenisis seeds. Its worth a shot I guess though it'll be one awkward phone call or a really weird set of emails especially if they mention the letters D,M or T

I have no experience of this but if the seeds are a biosecurity risk they will be destroyed and customs will send you a letter saying they have been destroyed. You could contact MPI for info although if you are only wanting a few seeds I would say the high cost would not make it worthwhile.
Is it Trichocereus seeds you are after?

No I'm not looking for trichocereus as its easy to get here. Its in basically every 20th garden and knocking on doors gets large amounts of cuttings and somtimes even whole live plants as many people view it as a weed.
What I'm after is bundle flower its a DMT containing plant from the U.S and I was hoping due to its ferny look that it could be grown ornamentaly and that no one here would likely know what it was.
Specifically I'm considering buying 50 seeds off eBay and just seeing if they come through. Their incredibly cheap about $3 for 50 so I could order multiple parcels to multiple addresses to increase chances of coming through customs.
I wonder if the seller could be convinced to stealth pack.
