Panaeolus ID?
    #23914997 - 12/10/16 11:59 PM (7 years, 1 month ago)

Habitat:
Found these beauties growing up in an old clear cut in some old wood chips from Douglas fir, in oregon, not exactly sure what they could be cuz I'm fairly new to mushroom hunting and all but my best guess would be their some kind of panaeolus species. But a lil help from the pros would be kool.

Gills:
Kinda light grey, not attached

Stem:
Around 3in tall, about 1/8in thick , pretty dark brown, they almost looked like they got black bruising when they were picked but it was hard to tell, kind of smooth, pretty sturdy but hollow

Cap:
The biggest cap I got was 1.5in in Diameter, when it was wet it was a shiny darkish yellow color and silky smooth but after I did a spore print it was a more of a tan Matt color, and had a convex shape

Spore print color:
Definently purple.

Other information:
Kind of had a sweet smell, and they grew in clusters and individualy in patches.

panaeolus are characterized by their dark gills, usually look greyish or black. I think you are mistaken by the spores that have dropped tinting the gills to a darker color.
