I quit heroin this time last year, then I started again a couple months later, but then I quit again in August
Once I stopped that I kinda phased out cigarettes, because I lost my taste for them without the dope.
I thought I could still do cocaine, but that didn't go so well after a while so I cut that out a few months ago.
Stopped smoking weed for a bit because the anxiety. I wouldn't say I "quit" but I never want to smoke daily again.
Intend to quit alcohol, that is my main problem I've drank every day since I quit heroin. Actually going to really make an effort today. Also would be cool if I could stop kratom but I don't intend to very soon.
Intend to unquit mushrooms, been way too long.
Thanks for the support man, good to know that Caffeine and Tobacco don't count for shit.

You posted while I was typing. You see all the quitting I did, that takes a while to remember.

better half of a liter of whiskey every night
I was consuming very large volumes as well and for many years. I kicked it alone and cold turkey. I kept some booze nearby in case I went into the DT's but mainly I kept my phone nearby so I could cal 911. I was also lucky enough to be able to see a doctor during day three. The first 4 days were hard but doable. The next 8 were also hard but a little softer. I couldn't work during this time. Some people need professional detox but others can just kick. In my opinion, tapering off booze won't work because once you take that first drink you'll just keep going but then again I can't speak to everyone's experience. I can only tell you how it's been for me. My strongest and most heartfelt advice is to find a way and quit drinking. A liter of whiskey every two days will kill you. Please stop.
Yeah I know it, and thank you. Someone in lnc posted that they bought a fifth monday and it's nearly gone, and I'm thinking I drink 5x that much and have been telling myself I'm doing pretty good.
I just really don't want to even try a taper. I've never had any success with tapering, I just use it as an excuse to keep going.

I got to look at time stamps more often.. My apologizes I just read that you acknowledged those 2 vs us 3 and got thrown for a loop. Made me question myself and if I was wasting time or not without Caffeine in particular.
This is a good thread altogether, dont post here that often but its good to see people come together for support. People don't get that chance to accurate vent in real life to people without it skewing their view of you.

TBH coffee would probably be the hardest thing for me to quit right now. People say liquor is everywhere, but coffee is everywhere.

didn't quit anything, probably won't for foreseeable future. I just do weed and occasional psychedelics though anyway so I haven't felt great pressures to change

I have quit alcohol recently and plan on staying that way from now on forward...kind of put the first half of this year in a haze. Living with alcoholics had a bad effect on me.

Only thing I've actually quit for good was cigs but only because I replaced it with a vaporizer that works wonders, most of the drugs I do are for the most part non-addictive and I use them once every couple months at most.
One I've been working on quitting is weed, been a daily user for quite a few years now and in the past 3 weeks maybe smoked 4-5 times, each time only a few hits at the most.
Hoping to quit weed for good once the stuff I've had for a few months runs out and then hopefully I'll be able to just quit permanently, it does a lot of good for a lot of people but for me it just causes me a lot of problems.

My only drugs these days are coffee and weed, and if anything I plan to increase my consumption of both.
