Cardboard spawn to Agar?
    #23902457 - 12/07/16 07:51 AM (7 years, 2 months ago)

I cloned a some wild psilocybe cyanescens to cardboard the mycelium has been growing very slowly but it is growing steadily its been around a month now and each inoculation point has grown out 5 cm, can i take some cardboard spawn to agar then eventually isolate the new growth that's on agar to a fresh dish so on?
Thanks

That should work. Transfer it to a new dish once you see enough mycelium growth to make another transfer. Let it grow out on the 2nd dish a bit to see if contaminations are present and transfer it one more time. Open a thread or update this thread when you transferred a tiny colonized cardboard piece to agar to get some feedback. Chances are high that you have to deal with contaminations. But it is definitely possible to isolate healthy sectors.

ATWAR's Cardboard Cloning Tek, here. From this list. Under the Shroomery banner are some menus.
Those menus will give you all the answers, tons of invaluable data and links.

Enjoy, Ferather

Thanks for the replies, I have moved 2 pieces of cardboard to agar, now just waiting too see how the growth turns out, im imagining it will grow slow like on the cardboard but i could be wrong... maybe the mycelium will pick up on agar faster? I'll post some progress pics soon!

My cyanescens on agar was very slow, took over a month to fully colonise from spores swiped in a z shape. Seems faster on wood and wbs though
