I pre mix all my dry ingredients in a large cooler and add boiling h20 to field capacity stir the fuck outof it and then i pack it in (gallon)ziplock freezerbags and microwave for 10 min on high brings my core temp up to 155-160 i zip it shut and store for use...i pasturize my casings the same way! I have never had an issue when done properly

How do you track the temp while it's inside the microwave? Seems sketchy

Could it be that i use horse manure? Did you use horse manure?
Cus i haven't tried it with cow.
I've literally never used cow. Always hpoo. Fluffy af hpoo
Maybe try a cheap thin pillow case? I only ever need a light squeeze but the cases I use are so thin they'll probably rip on me one day

Yeah the pillow cases were probably too thick, but really, the best pasteurization method is jars IMO. Both Frank and azur have teks on them. They actually hold much more than they look like they could too. And they're always prepared to field capacity/your preferred hydration, 100% of the time.

I have been using large mycobags to pastuerize my sub in....works out nicely with the filter patch for cooling as well...I think i read about it in Frank's Tek.

this is true its hassle free. I started off with franks method with coir years ago and never had a bad result from it. The only reason I use insulated tubs is the size advantage for bulk straw/coir. I do properly pasteurize poo or ewc separately though and then add. Makes the whole process cleaner and easier imo.

It's got quite a few micronutrients other than nitrogen, but that's the big one. Mushrooms benefit from a lot of the minerals and such in coffee. Speeds up growth a decent amount.

no shit!!! So do you use new coffee or old grounds, and whats the ratio that you would add to say a 66 qt mono tub...I ususally use CVG as a sub, can it be applied to this substrate as well? And if so, could i just add it to the mix before I bucket pastuerize? OR should i properly pasteurize first then add to the sub mix after I bucket pastuerize the sub?

I've heard it done all sorts of ways. Some folks mix used grounds (already been used to brew coffee) directly into the substrate with the CVG. You can use them up to 10% of the substrate volume when used that way, but you may need to balance the pH just a bit since coffee's on the acidic side. I've never done the bucket tek with coffee, but I would think it shouldn't throw off the process too much. That said, coffee grounds should be partially sterilized from the brewing process, so additional pasteurization might not be needed. I would guess it's personal preference.
I think my favorite use for coffee is as the soak water for grain prep. RR likes to use half strength coffee to soak the grains in. Since that's where the myc starts to colonize first, it's one of the areas that strongly benefits from any speed boost it can get. Also, since the grains carry nutrients all the way from spawn to fruiting, you get the benefits of the coffee from start to finish.
