I wouldn't pay more than 75 for 500 dishes. 25 sleeves of 20
out of pasty plates, pyrex dishes, and the disposables. disposables are by far the winner in my book
I can find single sleeves of 20 100x15 dishes for $5 at the local science store. that's 100 dollars for a box, you should get a price break for buying in bulk

I get mine from ebay, they're usually better with packages than amazon as they're scared shitless you'll crap on their ratings.

I've never tried ebay but with amazon the cost of shipping is always way more than the cost of the plates.

Plates from eBay from china though will show up with 4/5 sleeves having broken plates. But the cheapness almost makes it worth it. I got 200 plates for like $20

Like I said eBay lol. I don't remember the vendor cause I didn't use them again. Took 6 weeks and like I said, almost all of the sleeves had broken plates.
I started using a different american vendor. I get 120 55 mm for like $28. They are small but more than workable. I'll try and find it again if you are interested.

Was scrolling through some old threads and I stumbled upon milk dunking. Was that actually common practice? Is it viable? it sounds like a surefire way to get some bacteria on your cakes.

I get it. It's simple. Shrooms grow on cow poo, and cows make milk. Makes perfect sense,

So I was about to do some LI to grains. As I was shaking my agar plate I noticed that there were these tendril things, and I am hoping that it was not a hidden contam. It was a fuzzy plate, but from a fuzzy culture so I assumed it was fine.
I'd say it's just mycelium but the head parts are throwing me off. any ideas? also cool alien landscape pics

Kinda looks like pins/knots attatched by strands of mycelium.
You didn't notice them before?
looks way too big to be pin mold or bacteria.
