You can try Shroom-pro-biotic-ginger-soda if your brave.
Mix one Part Ginger Bug, One Part Blended Shrooms with freshly squeezed lemon juice, With Brown Sugar, Let it ferment for a few days, up to a week.
It kicks faster and harder than lemon tek- i swear. The taste reminds me of shroomie sprite- no wash required.. It gets all bubbly and fizzy and delicious,,

Fuck eating 'em man, tea is very easy and SO much quicker and harder-hitting; only trade-off is that the duration is almost cut in half.
You'll need: -7g finely ground mushrooms. (P. cubensis, but any species will work.) -16.9 fl oz bottle of water. -Little packet of single-serving flavoring. (those packets of powder that you pour in a single bottle) -Funnel
How to make it: -Pour bottle of water into small pot, heat until boiling. -Kill the heat and add ground mushrooms immediately. -Stir for 15 mins. -Line funnel with a dishrag or similar and filter everything into your (now) empty bottle. Squeeze all the water out of the mushroom clump. -Add packet of flavoring powder and shake; refrigerate/freeze.
Now you've got a bottle of mushroom tea, equal to 7g dry, that tastes only like your flavoring of choice. Guaranteed to hit you in almost exactly 15 mins, peaking at minute 30-45, coming down at around the 2 1/2 hr mark.

I'm sorry but if you have to flavor your mushrooms to eat them, then don't eat them. I'm down for recipes but flavor packet? does not sound good to me. If you really can't stand the mushroom taste, then making a traditional mayan cacao is the way to go. That is the way the mayans would take mushrooms. A chocolate drink with cinnamon, cayenne, and orange peel- sweeten if you wish. Agave is a great sweetener for hot chocolates.
However, I always grind my mushroom into powder, soak in lemon juice for two hours, and then mix with warm-hot, but not boiling water. Eat with a couple handfuls of raw cacao nibs. As I said in another thread the mushroom spirit and the chocolate spirit are best friends. Enjoy!

Who said anyone HAD to flavor it? My version of tea is solely for the fast punch-in-the-noggin and quick peak since I hate the anxiety of it slowly building for 45 minutes. Just need to break the barrier. The flavor is there because warm, unflavored tea is worse than eating them, and poverty here doesn't favor all-organic, farm-fresh additives. Never seen a negative reaction to it in 5 years.
If you can afford all the bells and whistles, good for ya; but don't b/s everyone else into thinking it's the only correct way, seeing as there's none. People get way too caught up in holier-than-thou mysticism and roleplaying that they forget what truly matters: the relationship between the mushrooms and the person.
If you need to pretend to be an ancient Mayan to have a powerful experience, then maybe it's not-that-genuine to begin with.

absolutely, i agree. There is no one way, I was just giving my opinion. I was imagining like a kool-aid packet or a gatorade packet when you said flavor packet. You don't need to be rich to eat healthy by the way. Processed, pre-packaged crap is actually more expensive than making recipes yourself. I just feel it is more intimate to make something special for the special occasion of taking mushrooms. It's not about pretending to be a mayan or anything, it's about realizing what synergizes with the mushroom and raw cacao for some reason really intensifies the journey in a great way. At the end of the day people should be sensitive enough to feel what resonates in their heart and what doesn't. But seriously, does a spiced-mayan mushroom cocoa not sound great? You are 100percent right, the relationship between the mushroom and the person is what truly counts. That is holy communion. I am sorry if I sounded negative to your post, perhaps just a misunderstanding.

Not a problem, and for the most part I'd agree on the healthy-can-be-cheap thing, just for this area (farming area ironically enough) we're stuck in the awful middle-ground between Wal-Mart and mom 'n' pop thing. Wal-Mart and such being just large enough to squash small-time local food supply, leaving only gas-stations who've taken initiative to stock some locally-grown foods but at a high cost and low variety/stock. "Healthy eating" here is primarily corn, potatos, green beans, and beef all smothered in salt and butter.
Kind of funny; all the good food is being exported to cities with the whole green-friendly-yuppie thing going on, and we get the factory trash because well, trash belongs with trash. Welcome to the South; where the pay is low, the prices are high, and the only quality-consumables are meth and oxy.
