Let's compile OVER 9000 personal reasons why 2016 wasnt such a bad year after all. 3

2016 was rough but, most of us rolled through it. we lost friends and idols along the way but for the most part we came out stronger.
Instead of moping and lamenting, let's compile OVER 9000 personal reasons why 2016 wasnt such a bad year after all.
I'll go first.
--I did a proof-of-concept diet where I ate unhealthy but brought fructose consumption (in the guises of added sugar and sugar products) down to the WHO recommendation of 15gr a day maximum. To my astonishment I lost 10lbs and in the subsequent months the pounds stayed off, demonstrating that indeed fructose is key to weightloss in nonalcohol imbiders as this university lecture alleges. giving me a major weapon to finally start losing weight.

Found a hobby that gives me something to look forward to and makes me incredibly happy and got me out of a somewhat major depression that I've been in for most of my life. 2016 has been a great year for me for the most part

To be honest, it was a good year. Nobody got busted, everyones chilling, doing what they should.
On a side note, I still feel like this last year has been a long one. 11/2015 - seizure from clonazolam WDS, knew it was coming.
11/2016, seizure from xanax withdrawal. I probably would not of had one if I didnt take every drug that was offered to me at the time. I only didnt piss dirty for amphetamins, meth, coke when I got tested at hospital. Side note, this bill is about 1/3 the cost I was thinking it would be, so im in good spirits.

I had someone asking me how I eat like a horse but never gain weight, I told them I count my macros, and keep an eye on my calories. I only count calories on days I don't exercise, which is once or twice a week, usually once a week though.
But many people don't realize just easy it is to overeat, it's really simple, especially if you're prone to adding sugar, butter, dressings to things to make them taste a certain way. Also, some things which are 'healthy' for you, aren't really healthy for you, like most artificial sweeteners, so you guys trying to lose weight, be leery of splenda, sweet & low, and equal because they tend to make people gain weight in the long run. For artificial sweeteners stick to stevia or monk fruit, my granny (RIP) got me on stevia when I was really young, and I always thank her for that because I don't do so hot with to much sugar in my diet, and I have came to like the stevia taste.
Anyway, about this thread, I have nothing against 2016.

Well alot of people could have died this year, me included, and they didn't. So that's good.
Kratom wasn't banned (yet)
And with any luck I will be closing on the house bid on back in September.
2016 has been a shitty year, and I won't call it anything it wasn't, but it left plenty of room for 2017 to be an awesome year.

i honestly feel really bad for all my friends and fellow shroomerites who had such a bad year this past year, because it was honestly so amazing for me. my life is better than it's ever been and i only see that upward trajectory continuing into '17.
my only issue with 2016 is that it doesn't seem like it was a real fuckin year, that shit went by so fast. felt like a month.

Asante I'm proud of you for achieving 10 pounds of weight loss. I really am. I'm just afraid that if you continue to focus merely on your amount of fructose consumption, eventually your weight loss might stall out. There is only one method to losing weight, and it's taking in less calories than you burn. I wish the best in terms of weight loss in the upcoming year. I think next summer my family and I are taking a trip across Europe. So who knows, maybe I'll be in town and we can work out together or something

Found a hobby that made a big difference in my way of thought and made me feel free for the first time in a long time.
Reconnected with my psychonaut side and since then i cant help but smile while walking forward, even if there's no set destination.
2016 started rocky but after a few stumbles i found myself again, when i wasn't looking and when i least expected it. I thank everyone in this community for their guidance. Cheers!

It was seriously one of the best years of my life.
Hillary seizing up and having her limp body dragged into a van was also pretty fun.
Alot of shit happened and the doubters and those that ridiculed trump supporters will be crying for years to come.

I quit cigs too, for the most part at least. I smoke now and then, like 1-2x per week, but I can't be a regular smoker without the dope. Also stopped smoking weed, just kinda got sick of needing it to be happy, and I ended up being much happier without it.

2016 is one of my best years EVER. The first year in my life I am free from severe mental illness. I get clean from an opiate addiction. I continue to make psychological and spiritual improvements every day. Mind and body, I am the healthiest I have ever been.
Only positivity here

Although I was a daily drinker - withdrawal symptoms were very minimal for me.

Is Asante the best thread starter on this site?
For me I would say it wasn't such a bad year because I followed through on several things to make me a better person or just had things happen that made my life a little easier/better...
1. Read roughly 1 book per month for the entire year
2. I finally joined toastmasters after years of contemplating on taking the plunge
3. Got myself back into the dating scene after a little hiatus...I crushed mad pussy this year (sweet humble brag, right?)
4. Rode about 3000 miles on my bike in 2016
5. After many failed attempts at finding/trying DMT, I said fuck it and successfully made my own.
6. I've given away DMT to just about anyone willing to take it to help spread the word. I've also mailed it to friends and even friends of friends...doing this made me feel very good on the inside.
7. Got a promotion at work
8. Paid off my student loans in full
I basically made 2016 my bitch is what I'm saying.

Marijuana legalized in a number of new US states, further entrenching legalization and making it even harder to fight.
Economy is looking good.
There was no World War 3 or nuclear armageddon.

I kept my job and got better at it. Didn't get into any trouble with the law while on deferred disposition. No one in close family or friends died.
