So after a bad run for a while over the summer I think due to the heat I think I've finally got some clean spawn I'm finna g2g with. I've got clean culture on agar as well. These jars came from agar. Thing is, I think when I built my flowhood, I got a fan that was just a tad too low on output. Making it so I have to be extra slow and careful when I work in front of it. Prolly gonna build a shield or box of sorts that extends out in front of the hood to minimize as much. I have good runs of clean agar and spawn and have even left agar dishes out in front uncovered for like 5 minutes to see if they contam with no contams. I do alot worse in the summer as im guessing way more airborne contams. It passes the lighter test but idk. I just do alot worse in summer. Altho my workspaces have been shitty. Atm I'm in a good spot with no drafts. But anywho, it's funny how quick I forget shit. I've got 2 jars that are the furthest along. Broke them up at like 50 percent the other day. They exhibited a good amount of rhizomes. Since breaking up and recovering, initially a bit blue from bruising, which is a good sign, they have recovered not rhyzomorphic but rather more on the fuzzy side. I feel like I've seen this before with good results however, my memory doesn't serve me well. Honestly I think my brain is broken. Early stage something or other. I can smell healthy mushroom mycelium through the sfd filter. Just curious. I feel I should know this by now but I'm forgetting. Is that common. For myc to recover not agmn rhizo after a shake?

It would be much easier to give a feedback if you upload some pictures. Weak or incomplete recovery of mycelium could be a sign of a bacterial contamination. But without pictures it is hard to give good advice.

Not fully recovered and pics don't really do justice. Regardless here they are. But also I'm more talking about anyone's experience also. I feel I recall healthy jars not returning to rhyzomorphic after a shake but again, my brain is broken.

TY for adding pictures. IMO the mycelium suffers because of bacteria. The pictures confirmed my thoughts. How much time elapsed after you shook the jars and making the pictures?
My experiences with rhizomorphic growth in grain jars:
When I used rhizomorphic mono cultures to inoculate grain jars, the jars took about 3 days to recover and continued to grow rhizomorphic.
With MS grows it varies. Some spots show rhizo growth while other spots in the same jar show tomentose growth. After shaking the MS jars you can have a more tometose or more rhizomorphic jar.

This is like 4 days after a shake and they were like 50 percent or so before

If that is 4 days after a shake I would be suspecting bacteria for sure. That is some very sluggish recovery.

Word. Instead of g2g ing them I might just try a mini mono with the two of em. Won't waste too much cvg if no good. And if it does produce I can just throw a fruit to agar. I got some other jars that seem to be a sure thing on the way so no big deal. Definitely learned not to be a so eager over the years. Wasted more time and money on spawn and sub being as much.
