Rez Effect turned Monotubs

I originally started out gathering supplies to attempt the Rez effect tek but after some thought and after speaking with a few other members I've moved my tek over to a monotub. I started out with a wrong order of spores being received but was excited to receive some Nepal Chitwan and Argentina spores. My first 6 quart jarsof wbs were noc'd with NC on 12/5 and had a simple tyvek disc with an RTV SHIP. The next 6 I learned from my first round and made an rtv Ship and a 1/4in GE port from tyvek. They are getting ready to go in the PC right now and will get noc'd with some Golden Teacher tomorrow. As of right now there is no sign of colonization from the first 6 jars.

For the most part I just wanted to post up because I'm sure I will have questions and also because I welcome the feedback. It's been an awesome science experiment so far!

I did rez effect in a monotub. Did just fine. Only reason I wouldn't use it more is verm is expensive.

I do have a question. After my jars colonize and I sterilize my verm/coco husk substrate and mix it all in my tub do I need to cover the holes in the monotub while it incubates or just leave the poly in?

Tape up holes first, poly when fruiting. Tight poly on bottom holes...loose poly on top holes.

Thanks. That's what I thought but I wasn't sure. I've been having an issue with my tyvek melting because my pc running dry. I replaced it as soon as it came out of the PC. I hope all is well

I pay less than that for verm but it's still more expensive than coir or straw. I love verm but not so much that I'm gonna pay 10 bucks to build a mono when I can do it for 8. My monos use 3 quarts verm and that's enough for me.

I saw the first signs of colonization in the first 6 jars on Saturday which was only day 5 after inoculation. I should expect the same time frame for the 6 jars of Argentina. The last 6 jars will be inoculated tomorrow with Golden Teacher. I hope and pray for the best. So far my first attempt has gone perfect! Knock on wood!

Now that I've done my legwork I would like to talk some about tub sizes, ratios of sub/spawn, yields and such.
I have 3 tubs ready to go when the time is right. Not sure of the quart/gallon size but they are 12" high x 18" length x 12" front to back. They are bigger than a 5gal bucket so I'm guessing around 8gal? I plan on using 6 quart jars of WBS spawn per tub with 1 brick coco husk and a few quarts (4 or so) of FC Verm. Does that sound right? Also I may add 1 cup of gypsum when I make my verm/husk sub. just want to make sure I have a decent substrate depth when I'm done

I put 12 in and was able to get almost 3" but as we both know water doesn't have airspace like WBS and substrate. hopefully with the added airspace its final depth will range from 3-4".
Does the ratio of 6 quarts spawn - 1 brick coco husk (package states 7Quart per brick) and 3-4 quart FC verm - 1 cup gypsum sound like a decent mix?

Yes that is decent your bulk will be roughly 10qts and then 6 qts of spawn.

Thanks! I appreciate all the help and feedback from everyone. I was overwhelmed at all the information on this forum but after I started taking one step at a time pretty soon I really understood the methods and other than everyone arguing over whats wrong or right with someone elses methods ive really enjoyed being here. the one thing ive learned that is 100% correct is That "what works for you, works for you. what works for me, works for me"! The magic of mush!!!
