Non active identification found during dog walk
    #23906254 - 12/08/16 10:16 AM (7 years, 1 month ago)

Found these during my dog walk last week they are not active obviously just curious what they are.
The one growing on the wood was on grass. The orange one was on grass

Trametes species is likely for the first.  Do you have photos of the underside?

Gill shots for the second?

Me too back before I had kids I would fish and hike up there 3 days a week. I started playing softball years ago and now I play ball every weekend pretty much in tournaments all over the west coast. Thinking of slowing down the softball and heading back fishing and hiking again

True, although most people I know wouldn't risk trying them.  I can't remember who it was (WA guy) who did try them.  Maybe someone else remembers the thread.

All of those are really Pholiotina species, a closely related genus. Those species are rare and other Pholiotina species that do or may contain amatoxins are not nearly as rare.
