found colonized cow dung!!! should I cultivate it?

Ok so today swim went shroom picking and found some colonized cow dung. This definitely wasnt the first flush as I can see where mushrooms have grown (and I believe have been picked?) So I bagged up the cow dung and put it in a humidified terrarium with an LED light above it. I believe that I have found at least two strains. One I have a feeling is psilocybe cubensis (forgive me if im wrong, im new to mushroom cultivation) and the other patty, I believe may be pan cyans due to the tall, lanky, mushrooms I found on the dung, which were stained a very very dark blue. Will these grow? What are the odds of these being active strains? And lastly, how long do you think until I get a flush? Thanks guys! I will post pictures in a second. Such a therapeutic hobby I must say

It will probably grow. It will probably mold. It's a pretty inefficient and nasty way to grow with a weak return.

Okay so it isnt a good idea? swim can already see about 10-12 little golden pins popping up on one of them which is the only reason why swim grabbed the cow dung. Btw couldnt upload pictures sorry.

It's up to you. As an exercise in cultivation it's less than worthless. If you get a flush then cool, you will have some food to munch but it will eventually mold, and it's not good to have sporulating mold in your house.

Okay man thanks for the reply I'm really just keen for some mushrooms. I will wait a few days for a flush and then dispose of the patties immediately. Thanks again.

Something that doesn't need to be a part of the shroomery..
OP, put some mycelium off that onto some agar though and now your chances of cultivating some mushies goes up exponentially.

Yeah maybe if you pick a mushroom and put a tissue sample on agar. If you put cow shit on sterilized grains you're gonna have a bad time.

No. You would take it to agar to clean it up. Turds are never sterile from the cows ass.
