If you can drop temps to 4 or 5 up to 10 degrees C for a few days, then move them to your growing space, warm them up to 18 or 20 C. I would leave the bag on until you see enough pins starting to break through then strip the bag, make sure humidity is 90-95% until pins start to establish, then you can fluctuate humidity if you want during fruiting. Lower temps and higher humidity help to produce bigger fruits sometimes, but you have to watch out for trich with the high H.

My 3782 blasts through agar pretty fast. I started two 5lb bags of hard wood fuel pellets Friday night. I used half a quart of colonized WBS. Spawn has already started to recover on both bags. I'm excited to finally fruit some shitake.

Just started some logs. They are Fungi Perfecti, CS321, S75, and 705. They were all inoculated with wedges at the same time, the 2 on the left were reinoculated after a month of no growth.

Does anyone have any experience with 4075 from amycel? The price is very agreeable. I am used to the 3782 from aloha, but their prices are like 2x as expensive.

What's going on with these logs? Did u sterilize them and drop a wedge in...?

My first winter of growing mushrooms I attempted to cultivate logs indoors in order to have colonized or even fruiting logs for a Master Gardener project due in early spring. What I found was that keeping wet logs indoors was a really great way to grow mold, not mushrooms. So I gave up in favor of sterilized sawdust logs. Recalling this failure recently I decided to give it another try. This time I soaked the logs, drilled one hole in one side, three holes in the other side (to serve as windows to allow me to see that the mycelium had penetrated) and sterilized them. I then injected a wedge through the bag into one of the holes and taped the hole in the bag.

How did you inject a wedge into the bags?

That's fantastic! Way to create a humid enviro and save your house and still do the log thing. I can see the new tek "Log in a Bag".
Good luck - I really hope this works!

He could have dropped it into a little sterile jar of water with an Oster blender blade glued in the lid facing down. Replace the lid, shake to beat up the wedge, remove lid, suck up water/wedge into a syringe and inject.

In the SAB, pull the plunger out of the syringe, drop in the wedge and put the plunger back in. Outside the SAB wipe the bag with alcohol and shoot the load. This is how I inoculate all my bags and even LCs.

This is my first attempt at shitake. Spawned 1/2 quart of 3782 on WBS to 6 cups of hydrated wood pellets. Bags were started on 1/6/17. Sorry for the bad pics.
