I just noticed that you got some in vitro pins. Means that you either got some bacterial problems or the sub was exposed to temperature swings. If it isn't too excessive just let them sit and pull the pins of if you birth the block:frenchie:

I like a minimum of 2 months consolidation. I've had my best yields on 2.5-4 months consolidation.

Opened bags this morning,  found this in-vitro pin. :wowz:

Just weighed it 87g or little over 3 oz.

Hi Guys

This is my 1st try of Shiitake culture.
Substrate is made of 50% organic straw, 50% oak sawdust.
Incubation of this block started on Nov 12, 2017.
Does it look brown enough to initiate fruits or not ?
What are your toughts or advices regarding browning inside or outside bags ?
Thanks

How do you get the most out of your second flush? I have a sawdust block and was able to pull 16 ounces off of it the first flush. Should I let it dry out a few days and then do a cold dunk and slap again?
