Got my neph in SF hooked on fungi. He had to work but his awesome lady got this identified at the fair as pluteus. Do you concur? I was thinking a gym of some sort. What you see is what I have for review. The print was orange brown.
Also some amanita socks and tea purchased for your viewing pleasure.

So this pluteus is not psychoactive because it does not have pink spores?

Definitely not a Gym, the cap to stem ratio is way off. Plus the dark nip

"pink" in the mycological sense is sometimes sort of orangish and "orange" spores are usually bright orange like the fruit.
It looks like a typical Pluteus cervinus, which if correct is not active. However, the Pluteus genus has over 300 species, several known to be active, but many of them are virtually indistinguishable from one another without microscopy.
A sure giveaway that you have an active Pluteus would be any evidence of blue staining on the stem, typically found at the base or bottom of the stalk. That said there are numerous reports of active Pluteus that will not show bluing. Also most active Pluteus have a distinct odor, to me it smells like an unlit ciggarette.

Your Pluteus has pink spores.
But with active Pluteus you want to collect the whole fruit body, and lay them out for a bit to try to observe bluing, they take a while to bruise blue if they blue at all.
If they bruise blue, they usually do so at the base of the stem.
I don't think you have an active Pluteus species though.
Nice socks.
I let us know how that coco tastes, I have always found Reishi to be very bitter, so am curious how that coco tastes.
