Cut me up all you want but a lot of classic rock is unappealing to me while tripping. Pink Floyd, Allman bros, Sabbath, Yes and more blues/prog/jazz/jam bands are good but for some reason I find a lot of stuff like the Beatles, Hendrix, Joplin, The Eagles, The Band and many others to just sound lame. I fucking love Zeppelin tho so its weird that I just find them bad tripping. Its almost like its not weird enough, or out there enough or something. It almost sounds too structured or typical.

No it's fine but ya I don't know, to me classic rock especially psychedelic rock is really the only kind of music that makes sense to me in that state (unless I listen to Miles Davis or Beethoven). I don't know about the Eagles though....I don't really listen to them and Joplin really only has a few good songs imo.
I know a lot of people say it's too "typical" of tripping or feels too cliche but I listen to that music whether tripping or not plus I honestly think of things like psytrance and shpongle to be too typical not really psychedelic rock though. I just feel that kind of music was made for tripping and can be appreciated much more while on psychedelics, I see the psychedelic experience as a boundary dissolving one and I see psychedelic rock like the Beatles and Jefferson Airplane to be boundary dissolving music. It's like the music also has an emotional effect on my ego.
Something about the sounds of the instruments it's like it's the only thing that can please me at that time because things like psytrance and "trippy music" sounds too fake to me. I kind of like the dirtiness of the rock sounds especially on L.
It also depends on the substance. For me Jimi Hendrix and the Beatles are phenomenal on LSD whereas Jefferson Airplane and Zeppelin are both great for shrooming.
Most people don't even know the best Beatles songs or the best Led Zeppelin songs because their most well known songs are for some reason never their best. Same can be said for Pink Floyd. I evener really "got" pink floyd as a kid because all I heard was their stuff from the late 70s and early 80s which I don't really care for at all so it's all about finding the right songs too.

To each their own, but I do feel it's worth mentioning that The Beatles nearly invented psychedelic rock, and have some stuff that's very trippy/experimental, even by today's standards, which sounds fucking crazy when you're high/tripping.
Take this one, for example.

Oh i know they pretty much did, along with early floyd. I love a lot of classic rock. I have been listening to it my whole life, I just find it doesnt appeal to me while tripping. Not all classic rock tho, but like I said a fair number of bands dont. I especially love Steely Dan, The Doors, Pink Floyd, The Allman Brothers Band, Yes and many more while tripping.

Damn, I don't think I could handle listening to that while tripping, especially on shrooms haha. It's too weird and chaotic.

When it comes to tripping, I'm either listening to electronic music, classical music, or strange folk music, preferably northern European stuff or Asian. Most rock is just uninteresting to me, and I absolutely love the way electronic music melds together when I'm tripping

Anone listen to Amon Tobin? I've see him do the ISAM performance shown below twice. He is in a dj booth inside the cube structure. The visuals are triggered by his midi samples. Second time I was tripping and it blew my socks off.
NetDiver, boards of Canada and animal collective are great choices. Have you seen animal collectives visual album ODDSAC?

Holy shit, yes. Was gonna post it, but didn't want to scare people away by posting an hour long video. It's incredible, though. Oddly enough, while sober I find some parts of it really disturbing, but on psychs it's just beautiful.
