Hunters tips to patch health

I'm looking to get some tips on how to help a struggling patch. The patch I am trying to help has yielded two stunted Cyans and a couple rotted fruits I didn't get to in time, over a period of two months. I have watered the patch a couple times now, but am interested to hear what other people have done, or any creative ideas, to get or keep a patch healthy. Posting it here and not cultivation because I'd like a hunters perspective because it is a public setting. Thanks.

you really cant do that... as you said... you got to it late... patches come and go and move around... try looking nearby for new patches... there are times that a patch can go "dormant" for several years with no much activity and then BOOM jackpot...
mother nature will nurture them appropiately for you

So when people water and cover with leaves is that purely for pins and current fruits, and not for mycelium?
