Is this grain jar too dry?

I made a few grain jars on 11/20, as per RR's videos. On the top there's a 3/8th in hole for GE that is covered with EZ Felt. There's also a silicone injection port on a 1/4in hole for the injection of my spores (but on this particular jar I used agar). The grains keep looking drier and drier. Are they now too dry?

Moisture content looks fine. Grains should be dry on the outside. There is some kind of contaminant like yeast, or it is just really starchy in there. Thoughts anyone?

A few (maybe 2-5% of the grains) broke. Plus my gypsum was in pellets, and didn't dissolve entirely. I think it could be that

Looks like a yellow contamination to me. My gypsum is white, and my burst grains don't form yellow specs?

Thanks! I'm making several more jars this week so that's a good tip.
