Hi I found three mushrooms two with blue caps one with more of a yellowish cap. They grew from up under a small rotting piece of limb on a grassy hill side near clear lake CA. It was about 10am Sunday morning. They bruise blue when cut or pinched. Appear to be psilocybe want to know for sure before consumption. Would also like to maybe find out what psilocybe. My guess is cubensis. I also collected a rather large chunk of mycelium from it. I have placed it in a bedof alder chips in a sterilized Rubbermaid tub. In a roughly 75 degree room. What are my chances of further mycelium growth? I also took a spore print of the mushrooms appears to be alight brown. I have bad eyesight. Will upload pictures as well.

Stropharia caerulea usually has a ring on the stem and is sort of scaly. This stem was smooth with no ring. Broke apart in fibors and was slightly hollow. Turning blue within 5 mins of bruising.
Not thought I would mention since I didn't before... I got my hopes up with this one..

You may be able to find some active Gymnopilus species in the woods around there. http://www.mykoweb.com/CAF/species/Gymnopilus_luteofolius.html
Otherwise you want to be checking woodchips for Psilocybe cyanescens and allenii.
