what makes you say that? I dont doubt you Id just like to learn.  Is it the whispies?

I messed with photo settings to make everything more visible.

The aerial center combined with the weak growth makes me suspect that. Especially since it's oyster which despite being tomentose usually exhibits strong growth.

Maybe try some different media and see if that changes things.

Terpfreak I am not sure about your plate.
Observe it and post a new pic in two days to see how it developed.
As Pasty wrote it might be good to transfer it to another dish.

I have an oyster isolate that had similar growth:

Teemo nice reishi tub.

Yupp, Mr. cloudy was right when he said, and i quote

Quote:

This is caused by growing it in an enclosed environment. It often happens in bags or tubs, usually near the base where there is even less airflow. If you increase the airflow while maintaining humidity you will see it clear up and take on the shiny color typical of reishi.

Opened my FC lid a bit and it started gaining some color, but im sure if i kept it enclosed it would of kept growing yellow haha.

Lol
If they are already cut, they may just be drying.
If they haven't been cut yet and the myc is allowed to grow through the screen, you could take piano wire or a wire saw and harvest them in one lone slow swoop.
Just brainstorming over here

You should try a sub half that thickness and see how much less you get. I bet you'd get more on that tub split in to two tubs

you don't pour concrete, you place it. also is there an isolation joint between the pad and the existing wall?

Agreed. One thing is that despite how good myc networks transport water and nutes, internal pressure ultimately places limits on how much can be moved. Larger substrates are at risk of inefficient movement/use of water and nutes based on their size alone. I wouldn't use a sub much thicker beyond what was required to sustain the RH in my tub.
