Gymnopilus palmicola found. Tea time?

I shared these pics of a dead palm tree stump and could not ID because the fruits were dried up.

A week a later and it rained for a few days. A pic of new fruits.

I can compare the features to other verified gymnopilus palmicola that had scaly caps, small purple pins, thick stems, and grow in clusters. I also took crucial diligence to learn the toxic lookalikes- galerina.
The question here is if these are active. There's limited info on gymnopilus palmicola. Apparently some are and some aren't. The ones that are are called gymnopilus cyanopalmicola (stain blue). So there's gym palm fruits and blue-staining gym palm fruits. The later being active.
Someone included a palmicola tea recipe (8-14g dry, sugar, and fresh ginger). Another shroomite tried 10g dried and his was active with a Level 3 peak. I wonder...

Why don't you pick the largest fruit and slice it in half lenghtwise, so you can check for any bruising reactions?
If it doesn't stain at all, you're likely to have an inactive species on your hands, and thus be saved for a bitter cup of tea.
They are beautiful to look at in any case, though.

well I'm closely looking at the dry ones. the others aren't mature yet.
8g dry tea soaked in orange juice for 30 minutes-> soaked mush dumped on pot and lightly boiled with sugar and ginger for 30 more minutes...tasty. not too bad. actually just as good as store bought hot teas.
