Wish we had one, I'm reading Candide by Voltaire right now and would recommend it to anyone going through life.

"The Dude and The Zen Master" is a great GREAT read, it's just a 3 day conversational dialogue between Jeff Bridges and Bernie Glassman. Can learn a lot about life and spirituality from it honestly.

You'll need to be more specific.
What are you in the mood to read?

The Last Kingdom series by Bernard Cornwell. He has written 10 books in the series and he's not done with it yet. It's about the Danish invasion of Britain and the formation of the country England. Fucking awesome read.

The thing is with book recommendation is that you'll get 5 years worth of reading material thrown at you with everybody saying that their book is the best and should be read first. Essentially pointless.
What are you in the mood to read? You created the thread, it's your book club. Choose the subject, I'll give you a book recommendation accordingly.

Good idea!
I'm currently reading David Copperfield by Charles Dickens, and it's pretty good but you really would have to enjoy Dickens to get into it.
However, for recommendations, I solidly recommend Crime and Punishment by Dostoyevsky. That was a life changing read, it almost brings tears to the eyes just remembering it.

just finished Voices from the Civil War by Milton Meltzer and Ripples of Battle by Victor Davis Hanson. Both good reads.
Currently reading some R.A. Salvatore book about his Drizzt character. Good series of books for anyone who likes to fuck around reading AD&D based fantasy novels.

Im currently reading The Ancient One by T.A. Barron.
Its one of the trippiests books ive ever read. im half way thru a little more.
But theres a hidden meaning about "The Ancient One" that i cannot figure out and the recent edible/lsd trip i had today sent me thru a loop trying to decode the hidden meaning of this whole book.
I swear, this book is life changing...

There have been book-club threads before, but they always die out.
Check out my Sig and let me know if i have anything that interests you, and i'll send it your way. Mostly fantasy stuff obviously, with a little sci-fi.
Im currently reading Ship of Magic by Robin Hobb. really enjoying it so far, and plan to finish the trilogy
