I do. I like to watch fast pace end of the world suspenseful movies. For me scary and gorey stuff is so much better while tripping. But I am sure that most do not. As far as dosage I don't care for mild so it is either moderate or high. I have to start movie before trip sinks in or I won't be able to follow. And I will usually have music or another movie lined up to pick from once movie is over.

Watching violence on TV on the comedown of a mushroom trip usually sends me into fits of extreme laughter.

I grew up playing in cemeteries. Tripping while watching a good flick will put you into that realm. It works for me.

Yes, 3 grams is good. I also like watching some horror movies while tripping. The Howling 2 had the Parsons Project in it and is very cool and trippy. Sure the movie isn't so great sober, but on shrooms it's an epic experience and seems as if it was made for shrooming.

Shrooms always magnify the smallest things for me.
I once tried to watch Caroline on shrooms and the evil looks freaked me out.
I even tried watching loony tunes, but the violent scenes where the characters smash each other's head was giving me bad vibes.

I was watching an episode of Rick and Morty where it portraying The Purge movie series, and I was laughing so hard when they shooting up all the squirrel people. I know it was supposed to be comical, but still, it was so messed up.
And yeah I watch 3D animated movies while tripping on shrooms. They look so much better and colorful. Very trippy stuff.

I remember a few years ago I was watching Bates Motel while tripping on 3 grams (on the comedown) and when the guys mom stabbed some freak guy who broke into their "motel" my ribs were hurting from laughing so hard I almost felt like a crazy person, since the blood was really dark and almost black it made it that much more hilarious for some reason.

The first time I partook in mushrooms I watch Pan's Labyrinth- absolutely great movie to watch on mushrooms. Nowadays I realize I much prefer going on a walkabout in nature, meditating, dancing and playing music.

I don't really enjoy staring at a screen if I am dosed by myself, but if I am with others I will gladly watch a movie with them. I watched planet earth on 3grms woodlovers once, it was practically a religious experience, I was in awe staring at the majesty of nature.
But I have enjoyed animated movie, sci-fi movies are great especially the ones dealing with time travel or aliens, I don't recall watching that many movies dosed though, I really am not a huge fan of films while dosed. I don't think I would enjoy horror movies while tripping, but I don't know, I have never had the urge to trip and watch horror.
Movies about real things are neat, many good documentaries will blow your mind while dosed, and make you realize just how vast, and wonderful the universe is. I was moved to tears once listening to Neal Degrasse Tyson speak about the universe, I couldn't help myself, it was just so beautiful hearing the black science man put things into perspective.
I watched a documentary about crips/bloods with my ex and my brother, my brother was cracking jokes for much of it, which was hilarious and fun, he's pretty funny.

I went to "Alice through the looking glass" with friends. I thought I took a reasonable dose to be in public.... Anyway I ate a little too much and the movie rocked my fucking brain. I had both feet up in the seat in the theatre hugging my legs. I laughed and cried. It was SUPER intense, but I had a great fucking time. I really enjoy good films and psychedelics. Natural Born Killers was amazing, saw it on LSD when it came out. Good times Dick

I completely understand your pov. Me personally I don't go to cemetery to have "fun" but I visit many old cemeteries while sober all the time and pull up the history of said cemetery and look at the old names and families to get a better idea of the history of an area that barely or don't even exist anymore. For me it is more of a fascination and I try to put myself and imagine an era from way before any of us. But keep in mind I grew up next to 2 cemeteries where me and childhood friend would go and ride bikes day and night while keeping respect for the dead, not to mention visit my families and childhood friends grave sites on a regular basis. We would even do work for the cemetery while on summer break as teens. I am middle aged now and my love for where the dead lay is still there.
I also like to visit old abandoned insain asylums, hospitals, Indian settlements, trade trails, military posts, and anything that is pre statehood. As strange as that may sound I hope that makes sense. And as far as when I die I want to be cremated and none of my friends or family understand that. But hey we are all different and just because something seems strange or out of the ordinary does not always mean it is immature. I think intentions would dictate that.
And I to have exp with years and years of various psychedelics. What used to be fun and a good time with friends when younger then eventually turned into solo trips and exploration for spiritual, mental answers to life, my life, my demons and my questions. Now at my age I am real reluctant to trip with anyone. And if I do decide to trip with anyone in the future they must be very close and special to me along with being very mature. It is very intement imo and not just anybody can share that with me. That's why in the past 20 years only 1 other person has shared the experience with me and that was only once, it was my wife and it was her first time and she was not mentally ready for it so I had to baby sit her. Fast forward to today and I think she is ready to give it a go again.
Sorry I kind of let that get away from me.

Fear and loathing is a great film tripping but I watched 'the grey' once which was a big mistake!
Shrooms I think are more difficult to watch TV on though. Although not as awful and difficult as trying to watch TV on Ayahuasca Shrooms for me are similar in that the entities that are trying to drag me over into the other side seem to get annoyed if I don't give them my full attention. I always wait until I've peaked and am more in control of things and then go watch TV.
TV is best for LSD really as oppose to trptamines but it can be done and can be wonderful with shrooms. Trypamines just tend to want to show you their own show and to be fair as it is a bit rude when you consider how incredible their show is!
Sometimes though I just don't want to breakthrough and want a more recreational LSD type trip without having that familiar and alien tryptamine experience which requires a lot of hard work and surrender!

fear and loathing is entertaining as fuck if you can relate to it, but its not exactly a good movie. I've seen a whole bunch of clips from trainspotting and it just doesn't interest me.
Personally if I'm going to watch a movie on psychs then its either going to be light hearted and funny, or an actually good film. Honestly I usually just watch cartoons. Idgaf how old I am, I'm going to trip balls and laugh my ass off to Spongebob until the day I die.
Movies are fun on shrooms but it really is difficult to follow whats going on. I also get pretty restless after a while and just need to do something else. It just doesn't feel worth the two hours of my trip most of the time.

I find watching TV takes away from your trip a lot of the time. You try to focus too hard and distract yourself fro your trip to an extent. It also for me at least makes it seem so fake and over exaggerated. Kinda like you see through the acting. I do like them for the come down/glow however.

For me with mushrooms when I watch television I can feel the mushroom spirits/entities or whatever trying to pun their intentionality on whatever it is I'm watching. I can see the intentions of the mushroom on the faces of the characters on screen. It's like the mushrooms are giving me some kind of pantomimic show, I've always said they seem quite theatrical. I think Terence McKenna described it as a "trumpet blasting" sensation and used the word wagnerian to describe the "show" mushrooms give you. I've noticed that natural psychedelics (even pot) seem to have their own agenda and seem to demand more attention from you than synthetics.
As for the people above talking about Fear and Loathing & Trainspotting... I don't know, Trainspotting on the outside just seems a little boring to me (never seen it) but Fear and Loathing with Depp and Benicio Del Toro was fucking epic and amazing and I don't usually like movies about drugs since they are really never accurate, clever or entertaining. I liked the Fear and Loathing movie even better than the book to be honest and I really admired it because to me it seemed to be the opposite of pretentious, I can't stand movies or really any kind of entertainment that's pretentious but Fear and Loathing most definitely wasn't. There's so much great symbolism in that movie and let's not forget their acting must have been pretty decent because apparently after that movie no one wanted to higher Benicio because they really thought he was a morally corrupt drug crazed lunatic.

I had a crazy revelation about actors in TV or movies once
When we are watching the movie, we allow ourselves to become engulfed in the plot and believe that what we are seeing on the screen is real because we want it to be. When you look at the screen, you see characters, not actors. Locations, not TV sets.
Have you ever tried watching a show or movie and not allowing yourself to forget they are just actors? Don't think of it as watching a movie, just think of it as watching the actors perform a skit on the stage. Its a completely different experience
Reading that back it sounds stupid and obvious but I swear it made a lot more sense when I was on the mushies

Yep FAL is a shit movie but great tripping, and as you said above, you dont have to follow it, its just crazy insanity to which the tripper can relate very well!
Trainspotting however was a great movie IMO, but the book was ten times better! But I see what you mean about overrated. Loved the fucking Godfather as a novel and it was an OK film, but why does it get so universally bum fucked? Never really understood that. Fear and loathing is not really popular outside of the psychedelic community though.

Nah they are very overrated. I mean, Fear and Loathing was a very solid book to movie adaptation but still just another hollywood movie and is pretty boring for the most part. Much rather read the book.
If I was to put something on TV now while tripping it would be a live concert. I have listened to/watched Death Live in LA and Martyr Live in Montreal many times.

Ive tried watching TV on 3-3.5 grams and i couldnt really get into it unless i was on the comedown. 1-2 gram doses are good. I dont get any visuals but its much better for watching or listening to something IMO. Comedy is the best. Every pattern makes perfect sense and the jokes seem perfect.
Maybe ill try it again next time i dose atleast 3g because i sort of gave up after it didnt work but ive had amazing experiences watching things on 1-2 grams.

To be fair the movie (FAL) stuck very closely to the book and was IMO a pretty great adaptation of a rather mundane book. I remember being very disappointed with the novel as I had hoped it would contain the depth that the movie lacked.
As for trainspotting it was a very dark and at times hilarious movie that was very well scripted and cast exploring a frightening alternative lifestyle (especially in scotland)and subculture that was fascinating and compelling for many people back in the 90's my young self included. It was and is a pretty explosive and shocking movie IMO.
Went back and watched it a few years ago and forgot how good it was, there are some brilliant performances from the likes of Robert Carlyle playing the psychopathic Begbie but many others as well. Anyone saying that 'its shit' should probably go into a little more detail about what was so terrible about it, or should sit down and watch it again with subtitles.
Maybe for Americans alot of it got lost in translation but the writing was fiercely intelligent and profound even, adapted after all from a frankly phenomenally well written novel.
If you have never read trainspotting then you are missing out.
Everyone has their own opinions but trainspotting shit? Nah I smell Americans !
