Yeah, it's just like baldness. Apparently male pattern baldness is also something that men primarily acquire from their mothers.

If your fathers have it too you're even more likely to get it, but the main gene comes from the mother, and I suspect the genes for intelligence also work in a similar way.

This reminds me of a rant by Alyssa saying how God was female because there's the female chromosome (X) in everyone, and not the same for the male. (No Y,Y)

Edit - I just googled it and apparently there are males with an extra male chromosome. So, XYY but still no YY human-being.

Technically we all start out as women in the womb before half of us develop into males, so Alyssa might be on to something... the only Y that exists are in sperm.

So weird how a sperm and an egg fuse together and makes a person. All that genetic information loaded into something so microscopic.

I've never really wondered about the female presence on here. I always assumed it was pretty good considering the forum. It is like playing online games to me, very few females but there are females.

But I also think I am just really used to being around more dudes than dudettes. So it never really bothered me much about the lack of females or how most guys talk.

Butthole talk doesn't bring this girl down, but I know alot of girls who would be appalled and steer clear of it.

I'm sure the reason comes from most of the replies said already.

Regardless, the women on this site are pretty amazing and I am happy to take whatever the site gives us in that regard.

That isn't exactly true. This article says in the beginning generic embryos have the precursors of male and female gonads... haha gonads

https://www.quora.com/Is-it-true-that-were-all-females-in-the-womb

Let me spin you a beautiful lie. I looked at all the patterns with very limited understanding on biology in the first place. That's neither here nor there. Here is what I deduced:

X being the female chromosome, is like a manifestation of mother earth herself. Y is the male chromosome, or like you said only found in the seed, i mean semen. It's all a tripped out tesseract reflection with micro-cosms that mirror macro-cosms. Universal designs are mimicked by micro-organisms, and so it goes. So if X is this Earth or our womb, and Y is the male seed or Man and since there are no human beings with the Y,Y chromosome combination... it can only mean that there is another Earth just like ours somewhere else in the galaxy to balance everything out. It is Earth Y and we are on Earth X. On Earth Y you will find a human being with the Y,Y chromosome combination.

Ever wondered why we always say "X  Marks our Spot?"

Wow that is a really interesting theory. I love how Shroomery members always think outside the box.

Wonder what somebody with a Y/Y chromosomes looks like... I'm just picturing somebody who looks hyper-masculine and ape-like, probably doesn't have nipples, and their genitals probably look totally different from male or female.

Woa, I just tripped myself out thinking about life on "Father Earth"; Earth Y being a planet with a male force behind it and how differently life on a planet centered around masculine energy would be.

They wouldn't have nipples for sure though, because nipples I think are what you get from the X chromosome.

im not sure im buying that.

For example, i got two half brothers. One we share moms, and my other half brother is a lot smarter than me.

Then my other half brother, on my dads side is about the same intelligence as me.

Intelligence is complex and isnt so simple as "if moms smart, the son is smart". Many genes control IQ and its also the environment that influences it too.

I think most female drug users are on another drug forum that shall go unnamed. The main reason for this is that they have strict rules against harassment. They even have a thread where the female members continually post nudes.

Hi Yogabunny!:hi:

There's actually quite a few Shroomerites who are female.  It's easier to interact incognito and not let hormones dominate intelligent conversation.

I honestly cant tell whos male or female on here but that could be because I just dont know many of you well enough.
I have seen some fairly sexist and downright horrible things said on this site about women that could more than likely be a deterrent for women to want to post on here. I wouldnt blame them since I myself have even felt very uncomfortable with some things on here.

Crystal G said:

What final explosion says about IQ and gender is somewhat true. While most people of both genders tend to be in the center or average, if you look on a bell curve, men are more likely to be either extremely intelligent or extremely stupid and retarded. They show a greater level of variance.

But the reason for this, supposedly, is because men get their intelligence from their mothers. Apparently the gene for intelligence is passed through the X chromosome. So, part of the reason that men vary so widely and tend to display greater extremes of stupidity or high intellect, is largely because of the single X chromosome they get.

Women on the other hand inherit two X chromosomes, one from their mother and one from their father, so the combination of the two tends to balance itself out.

Exactly. Men go out, compete for the eggs, and it yields to more variations in IQ.

As for that in bold, would love to see a source. I find the info all fascinating. I bet heavily that much of the data and info now will later be contradicted or disputed in a future now.
