Why is this suddenly only a big deal with trump?

Y'all aren't concerned over the hundreds of backyard deals congress has made to enrich themselves?

Trump owns stock, big fucking deal,

And every other politician does as well

Difference is, TRUMP's already rich, he doesn't need to legislate to enrich himself

***but I guess partisan hacks gonna hack

Dunno why "yall"... I've always been against government officials shaking hands under the table with business. I didn't like it when Bush did it either. My former state governor was caught doing this and he should have went to jail.

I didn't realize you could directly own stock as a president but I dunno why I didn't. I just assumed they were doing loop holes like having the stock in family's name or whatever. Kind of like how the Bushes did it. But blatantly owning stock or part of a business in any form IS A CONFLICT OF INTEREST in their own terms. Like there should have been laws written against this 100 years ago.

hopefully they'll throw the natives a bone, for forgoing their treaty, and build a little to the left, so they can avoid being completely hawkish and trampling on agreements.

Sounds a lot like indian removal huh? Slowly encroach until they say fuck it and kick em out completely.

Two words.....blind trust ...elimimates conflict of interest...something mr. trump has not been willing to embark upon.

There isn't any damn conflict of interest, he's already rich,

Just like with "releasing his taxes"; fuck conventional wisdom, career politicians have fucked this country up enough with their "releasing of taxes and avoiding things that look like a conflict of interest "

Right. So he definitely won't make fail to make decisions that may hurt the businesses he has investments in because he already has money?

Also you realize almost all of his money is not in the bank and is in assets, stocks, and real estate, right? if you just took all these things away from him Donald Trump wouldn't have very much money at all.

He has all the insentive to make whatever decisions he can to help keep his $800 million dollar investment in San Francisco office buildings from being devalued and to making any nudge he can to increase that value.

Investments work like that. He found that out early in his career. You can make alot of money just as well as lose alot of money. He is unlikely to want to make moves that will cost him money by devaluing his investments.

Even if not, if he's a saint that can objectively make decisions, SOMEONE most certainly would behave that way. That's the very reason there is codes in every major US industry and government about conflicts of interest. I dunno how you can't see that. I dunno how the government can't see that.

That aside, every politician goes to Washington a middle class citizen and comes out a multimillionaire, does that bother you?  Because it should

Trump will already be a billionaire when he gets there, he's the least of your worries

the question is, will he also leave a multi millionaire?
