PNW ID Request
    #23895707 - 12/05/16 12:59 AM (7 years, 1 month ago)

Growing in wood chips in small clusters (3-5).
Light colored gills (yellow). Unsure of print color. No apparent stem. Growing directly on the wood chips (Pushing through the wood chips). Underneath a young Birch tree.
No apparent Smell, No unusual characteristics stood out.
Fan/shell shaped fruit.

Also a group of unknown pins growing in with them?

The pins could be Hypholoma marginatum. The other ones I'm curious about also, I have what looks like the same species coming up in my front yard as well. They have the shape of oysters but are definitely not. Maybe Hohenbuehelia

Cool. I will check back in when i take a break to thaw out. Getting ready to battle the cold and do a little tree work up in Ferndale. Thanks for the input.
I'm not really into the edibles, but these seemed like they would be tasty for some reason? Have a nice day to all.

I used to live in Ferndale.

Neither of those are considered common edibles, Hypholoma may even be toxic.

The second mushroom is Tapinella panuoides.

Humboldt county has a Ferndale, love that town.

Nice. The ones in my yard are growing off of lumber. Which I read happens to be a common characteristic of these mushrooms. I'm going to get some pictures of the ones in my yard when it gets light out.
