Sterility during harvests

How careful are you guys when harvesting your fruits? Do you wear a mask? Gloves? Sterilize the harvesting utensil? Turn off the A/C and any fans?
My last monotub ended up getting overrun with trich near the end of the first flush due to what I assume was my not turning off my drying fan which was kept in the same closet. I always wore at least one glove on the hand I was handling the mushrooms with, not always on the hand holding the X-acto knife. No mask, but I do tend to get really in there, so maybe breathing on things could cause an issue?
I have a gang of jars in the works that I'll be using on a new monotub soon, and I'd like to make sure that the same mistake doesn't reoccur. Of course, the more sterile the better, but I'm curious just how vulnerable a fully colonized monotub is to contaminants.

I usually close my windows and turn off fans some time before harvesting a monotub, and I also wash my hands. These little things ofcourse help, but a fully colonized monotub that was built from clean spawn should be resistant to any contams landing on it. You already introduce it to contaminants when you mix your spawn with your substrate in open air.
Gotta make spawn you're using is clean (and substrate is properly pasteurized ofc), bacteria is a bitch.

No gloves, no mask, no sterilized utensil, AC and or fans are not changed. By this point contams do not matter at all. If you see contams before or right after your first flush it was 95% bad spawn.

I just filled my monotub with water from the bathtub, flipped my sub over and now its fruiting from the other side (I had bottom pins). All I really did for sterility was wash my hands. I don't have any sign of contam and its fruiting even better than it did first flush.
My sub is 50/50 straw/cow poo if you were wondering.
