Finally Experienced DXM- Very Underrated!
    #23894133 - 12/04/16 02:30 PM (7 years, 1 month ago)

Despite growing up with the notion that DXM is a crappy psychedelic substitute (the OTC stereotype), a little research revealed that it might have a bit more potential than I thought. After reading a couple online experiences I thought "Hey, maybe it does hold some value", but I never was interested enough to try it, until last night...

I decided to test out a relatively low dose, "testing the waters" as they say, and it ended up being one of the best "trips" of my life! Took 200mg with almost 0 expectation in terms of effects, mostly because I'm not experienced with dissos at all (aside from a little K and nitrous). After an hour I started to feel slightly loopy: my vision seemed a little "off," I felt a little anxious, and started getting vague confused and reminiscent thoughts that usually accompany the beginning of my trips. After a couple hours nothing much had changed, so I decided to smoke a bowl and go to bed. That's where it got interesting:tongue2:

After getting in bed my vision got a little blurry and wavy, and started getting some pretty cool CEVs (not classic psych ones, but more like vague rotating geometric objects, abstract almost...). Definitely felt a bit of the dissociative side, as I felt sort of distant from everything around me, and everything seemed to look very alien and abstract. Started thinking about the changes going on in my life the past couple months, and was surprised at the relative level of emotional insight I seemed to be playing on.

It's hard experience to describe, but I guess what I am trying to say is too all you mushroom lovers who have never thought of trying DXM, it could be an experience worth having!

Plan on trying it again at a bit higher dose, but I'll treat it with respect/caution, because I can definitely see how at higher doses it could turn into a very dark/existentially dissociating experience.

A high dose of dxm is the same as a high dose of ketamine. Anyone care to counter that statement? Never done k, just what i've read.

Dxm is fun, check out the dextroverse for extractions and dose info. 200 is pretty low. :toast:

Dxm is an amwesome drug. Pot also compliments the dxm headscape wonderfully, but be careful it can be intense.

Yea- I generally have a pretty low psych tolerance, so I decided to start of small.
I also definitely agree that weed bumps up its effects quite a bit. After smoking I went from sorta trippy headspace to interesting, although fairly mild, visuals and a strangely emotional mindset. (By strange, I mean not something I expected to happen).

Yeah definitely don't underestimate these drugs. One minute you're fine, one minute your arm is on fire.

Nice to hear ov a good dxm experiment.  As some here know, i think quite highly ov the substance.

Well, 4th plateau dxm and a kurrenting dose ov ketamine are rather similar but they're still quite different.  DXM is less immersive and leaves one with a greater body load that takes longer to recover from.  I'd recommend ketamine over dxm for one looking for that type ov experience.  However, 3rd plateau dxm is very unique and magickal.  I regard the latter term as literal, as in my experience 3rd plateau dxm affords the optimal working environment for ritual magick, summoning/invocation, and scrying.  Compared to ketamine, i consider dxm to be more magickal, whereas ketamine is more soular.  Soular as pertaining to the soul( self outside ov time/space ) and solar in regards to the dog star and the tunnels ov Set.  I'd consider neither fun, but rather serious and powerful chemognostic agents.  Traditional psychedelics like lsd and the mushrooms psilocybe can certainly be very fun in contrast, and while great revelations may be extracted under their influence, i believe that there are areas ov the unconscious that the dissociatives in question may provide a more extensive range ov keys to unlock the doors to their access.

It was really very popular in my high school. I liked it. It was really dark and weird.  Very strange fucking high. Sort of like anti-mushrooms.

I only stick to low doses on the very rare occasions that I even do it. Usually around 300-400 mg. I've done a couple 1 gram doses or more and those were pretty insane. Not in a good way, not totally in a bad way either. Just..intense and very fuckin weird. If I'm looking for a heavy disso trip, I'd much rather just go with some K or MXE, but I do think DXM has a worse reputation than it deserves for the most part.
