Recommend a good dry herb vaporizer
    #23894048 - 12/04/16 02:06 PM (7 years, 1 month ago)

I'd appreciate it if you guys could please recommend one for a first time vaporizer owner.  I've been out of the weed vaporizer scene for a long, long time.  I haven't hit a vaporizer in almost 9 years and haven't owned one in about 15 years.  I have a friend who is interested in getting one after I explained the benefits of it, but I don't know what to recommend.

Anyway, she doesn't smoke oil or wax or any of that newfangled stuff you kids smoke nowadays.  Just dry weed plant matter.  I suppose she's looking for a less expensive one also, but it still needs to last and be of good quality.  Collectively, you guys know everything, so I figured I'd ask you.  Thank you in advance, Shroomerites!

MFLB is pretty much the standard...as far as relatively cheap goes.

There is honestly probably no replacement for a volcano or an ssv.

arizer air

da vinci

Both companies put out other vapes as well but I have an arizer air and it's pretty damn good for 200$ (thats CAD too so cheaper than that)

not sure what her budget is like though, those are kinda pricy, but for portable vapes I've heard nothing but good things and I have an arizer air myself.

Truth is the nothing beats a volcano IME...though I would still recommend the arizer (they also have another one that is really popular) and I've heard many good things about the da vinci brand as well

Ones I've tried:
arizer solo
arizer air
pax
pax 2
mflb

my view of those: arizer air and solo are the best in terms of vapor/efficiency, so if you want portable go arizer air. Don't both with the mflb I don't like it at all, and the pax is pretty decent but I find arizer preferable in functionality

I would say that the Pax 2 is probably the best one out there just going from general chatter.  But I can't say for sure since I haven't tried others.  The Pax 2 is what I have and I really like it.  I believe the retail price dropped from 279 to 199 just recently.  I got mine off craigslist and saved a bunch on it that way.

Just realized the arizer solo is only 159 in CAD, this is probably what I would go with if on a tight budget but she's still willing to spend more than $100 but less than $150

I have tried a solo as well as my air and they are both pretty equal IMO in terms of vapor quality/efficiency, but if she wants something more portable the air is smaller and easier to bring around places

Iv'e got a da vinci vaporizer and I'm happy with it. I don't use it much because it's a strong buzz, but when I do I tend to get the thing where my mind entertains me with images in my minds eye (which is a good thing). I ended up getting the longer straw or snorkel pipe for it as it's just a bit more comfortable to use with that and maybe slightly cooler vapour.

To be honest I haven't tried any other vaporizers so there may be better around, but for me what I got was perfect.

I've never tried a Pax but this new one sounds pretty bad ass.

Super expensive though, well for me its like 360 (canadian dollars)

Craziness! I want one though lol

Hey LC, what's up!   Yeah, the Volcano is way of this girl's price range, but after reading the comments in this thread, I keep seeing Arizer pop up.  I found a guy reviewing it on YouTube and the guy said it was the second best he's tried behind the Volcano.  Quite an endorsement right there.

But yeah, thank you guys for the suggestions.  I checked them all out and so far, I gotta say the Arizer seems to be the best.  It's $150.00 with free shipping at http://www.planetofthevapes.com.  The other ones you guys mentioned also look awesome, of course, but the Arizer seems to be the best bang for your buck?

Not sure if the deal is any more desirable, but you can buy it straight from the manufacturer (arizer.com) with free shipping as well.

You do get a free grinder and something else on the other site though, not sure if it is actually worth ordering direct from arizer after seeing that.

I am aware that a lot of new and improved vaporizers have been created in the past couple years, but in my opinion... I'd take the MFLB (magic flight launch box) over them all! They are relatively cheap, smell less than most vapes, last forever (With automatic warranty if you buy from the site) and don't really require cleaning. Had mine for 3 years, and its still going strong!  :pipesmoke:

I don't have much need for a handheld vape, so I like the Arizer Extreme Q.

Volcano is indeed the best vape for filling bags, but I hate bags aside from their convenience in a few circumstances. While the staleness is nothing like stale bong/pipe smoke, the vapor degrades into a generic flavor quickly. I like their handheld Mighty much better, but it isn't drastically better. It does seem to be the strongest portable, however you'd hope so at its price.

I saw that too, then I realized on arizer.com it's in Canadian dollars. Arizer is a Canadian company I think.

It works about to be close to the same I think, because our canadian dollars are worth about 75 cents or so USD.

I hope she enjoys it though man, good choice going with the solo

Get the volcano or the plenty from storz and bickel. Either one will last you forever literally and are still the best ones on the market. The best portable vape is the crafty also made by storz and bickel. Yeah I'm a little biased because I own the plenty and the crafty, but I haven't tried anything better. I did own a cheap whip style vaporizer before but that thing seriously sucked and didn't last long before it stopped working completely.

Got my pax3 yesterday, and its crazy fast. I only used it once, but two hits got me pretty stoned, I cant wait for tomorrow to really put it to the test with my shatter+wax.

I was really surprised on how small the bowl is. Even then, you can do a halfpack with .1~ of weed. Not as stealthy as I thought, I could smell it within seconds of turning it on.
