I just did on an old Mirro-matic. I guess the bag clogged the stem anyhow it was a bit of excitement and I am glad I was not hovering around when it blew. I found melted metal alloy near the plug hole.

You can use things like the bottom grill/mesh/trivets to stop the bags or anything similar from blocking off the vents. I used to just put a snug fitting plate on top of bags. You could also permanently silicone something on the inside of the lid to stop it being able to happen.
People who recommend suing are often the same ones wondering why their insurance costs are so fucking high...

This is what I mean in case people could not picture it. Photos from the old mush mush site.

So if bags do blow up they should not be able to fully block the vent above them. I had a housemate block them up pressure cooking too much food.

OP clearly didn't put a cover plate over the bags. I use my presto bottom plate to top off the bags in my A941 and it works like i charm. I cover that issue in this video.
