Mycelium or cobweb?
    #23893705 - 12/04/16 12:20 PM (7 years, 1 month ago)

I heard mycelium was grey but this fuzz is white? It came on the cake a day after putting it in the fruiting chamber.

Its my first time growing. But trying to grow golden teacher. It's only 1 of 6 jars so I was unsure if it was too early or not to fruit. Is it too bad that I should trash it? And what should it be sitting on? Any help would be great for the future

Pretty sure thats cobweb, toss it right away.

And just place them on the jar lids.

How do the others look?
Is that a shotgun fruiting chamber?

You want do a sniff test before putting stuff into fruiting. I bet that smelt like mold before you even put it in there.

My oysters when I am doing grain to a pasteurized sub I give them a smell. When going from sterilized to sterilized that is not possible.

Close  it's a pin mold. Like mucor or Rhizopus. Definitely don't let it sit around and shit on everything. Looks like there's no holes in that chamber. Definitely a bad chamber with awful FAE for that to thrive like that.
