Did this guy run a website that took advantage of the black market created by drug prohibition to make millions or not? He knew how fucking illegal his operation was. He took that risk because of the reward. He thought he could get away with it. He didn't. You should raise money for actual victims of the drug war, not people who tried to exploit it.

Is that the way you feel about people in the marijuana industry too? Essentially... they are getting rich off the black market as profit margins are higher, and they knew since the inception of the drug war that it was illegal.

The people that exploit the drug war are the ones holding him hostage. He was running a legitimate business, and a good one at that. He gave an average person an opportunity to buy PURE drugs. That was unheard of. You had to be a rich motherfucker to get pure drugs, or at least buy it somewhat in bulk......sure you're gonna come across a gem here and there.....but those handles are ran by multiple users, and that's known. There's plenty of posters here that are multiple human beings.
I don't think there's enough to ruin a mans entire life over.

What is your definition of an "actual victim of the drug war?"
Is a small time street dealer who sells drugs cut with dangerous chems at a high price to unknowing users a "victim" in your book? Is someone who transports hundreds of lbs of marijuana across the border a victim if they get caught? Anyone who deals in drugs knows the dangers and illegality of what they do.
If anything, ross is the ultimate victim because all he wanted was a safe way to get clean drugs to users all across the planet without having to deal with sketchy dealers and law enforcement.

The actual victims of the drug war are tax payers and the actual family members (i.e. children/spouses)of the accused.

As much as I agree that life in prison is an excessive charge, and as much as I hate the drug war, I'm not sure how helping to fund it is going to do any good.

Helping to fund his legal defense team and appeal so that he can try to get his sentence changed at the least?
I think he definitely deserves time in jail. He knows what he was doing was wrong, but I do not think he deserves life in prison, that is ridiculous.
I'm actually surprised Koods thinks this is a justifiable sentence, I thought he was pretty liberal

Yeah well they both do seem to be into authority worship these days, they're two sides of the same coin, as much as I like them both.
